Who would expect Microsoft to publish an official Xbox Live app for iOS? Well, it’s not that surprising as they already produce apps for platforms other than Windows Phone 7+, like Android, and that for them, they’ll get the market share any way they can. It is official. The new Xbox 360 dashboard is available, with all of the additional content provides and Windows 8-esque tiles with more Metro styling. In one day it generated $200 million dollars on September 14th; the launch day. It’s the highest grossing entertainment record in one day worldwide. And it is awesome. Although, mind you, I don’t own the new Xbox 360 S (or an Xbox at all), but I am springing for one soon enough, and Halo: Reach will be my first pick.
So while you all are having cocktails, reading books, or chatting with friends this weekend, did you buy Halo: Reach?
The new Xbox 360 controller which has an improved D-pad and better analog sticks — a newer and better controller all around — is in freaky awesome metallic silver and such, and makes all new owners of the Xbox 360 (sometimes called the Stealthbox) a little sad.
After speaking to one of Microsoft’s Xbox agents, I can directly say that Microsoft hasn’t outed the availability of the controller in Xbox retail units, as the new controller is only coming in a Play and Charge kit for $64.99 when it launches on November 9 in the States. Interestingly, I did learn that the older controller will still be sold, and then other than that, Microsoft doesn’t have any plans for displaying the controller in public (i.e a press event), for now.

Bringing Xbox LIVE to Windows Mobile handsets has always been a dream of well — Windows Mobile users. And a recent available job position at Microsoft might be all the confirmation we might need. Microsoft is currently looking for a Principle Program Manager to “bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile” and is someone who “will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences “LIVE Enabled” through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences”. This obviously means that Xbox LIVE is headed to Windows Mobile, and this might even be Microsoft’s savior for Windows Mobile.
