Usually at the FCC, all new handsets and whatnot go to get pictured, dismantled, played with, picture it again, then play with it some more, waste time… but nevertheless some pretty good info comes out of those boring labs. The boring shot you see above is only a boring shot, but the 40-page user’s manual isn’t. That’s crawling with info, and I’d say if you want to buy the X10 (watch for thr Nexus One, mind you) you should take a look at your future instructions manual.

That’s what we know now. AT&T will have its first Android-based handset, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. The guys at Phandroid uncovered the specs on the X10, and found that the 800/850/1900/2100 bands only fit AT&T’s network. So it won’t be connecting to T-Mobile as we all hoped. But here’s one tiny sliver of hope:
UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900 only available for phones sold in Americas (except Brazil) and Australia. UMTS HSPA 900/1700 not available for phones sold in Americas. UMTS HSPA 1900/2100 available worldwide.
This means the X10 can work on T-Mobile, but it won’t be on T-Mobile in the US. Yeah, that’s not a sliver of hope at all.

It’s official. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is Sony’s first Android phone, and it wields the 1Ghz Snapdragon chip, 8.1 megapixel camera, and the awesome Android skin Rachel. It’s expected to launch in the first quarter of 2010; making it one of the fastest phones on the market. All because of that wonderful 1GHz Snapdragon chip. And did I mention the 8.1 MP camera?
