As much as I might not believe it, the HTC HD2 is a success! As a clarification, I see the HD2 as one of the best smartphones, but with Windows Mobile 6.5 practically doomed because of Windows Phone 7 Series, it didn’t seem like a logical choice to buy one, along with the Sprint EVO 4G making its debut 2 days ago.
But buyers have proved everyone otherwise. According to stores across the country, the HTC HD2 is practically sold out everywhere, within four hours. Windows Phone 7 anyone? Anyone? Looks like no one ever cared about it, after all.

To kick off today’s MWC 2010 coverage, I bring you Toshiba’s smartphone, the K01. It’s a handsome QWERTY slider with a 4.1 capacitive OLED touchscreen, Windows Mobile 6.5, a microSD slot for storage up to 32GB, and a speedy 1Ghz processor. This would be the cousin to the TG02, Toshiba’s update to the original TG01, and is a slim 12.9mm, but still the K01 is not as thin as the aforementioned handsets. No word on price or release yet, but we’ll know soon enough. PR after the break.
Of all of the terrible things in the gadget world, one of the most disgraceful is the stylus. I mean, come on, what would you be more comfortable with? Your finger or a plastic toothpick? Either way, HTC decided that you can buy a stylus for your gigantic 4.3-inch capacitive HD2, but they won’t tell you where you’ll put it, because there is no way to store the pen without possibly losing it. Despite having numerous delays, one British retailer has it available for shipment at the price of 17 quid (about $28 United States American Dollars).
