The Nexus S? Does it exist? According to the FCC, it does (and to leaked spy shots) and now it has new Bluetooth / WiFi and GPS antennas. Contrary to the belief that the Sexy Nexy S was delayed due to a dual-core processor seems wrong due to this new filing for the Samsung GT-i9020T (a.k.a Nexus S). Now all we need is a release date for — soon. Via: FCC, Eng

Samsung’s Wi-Fi Only Galaxy Tab To Cost $499.99 At BestBuy?
by Stefan Etienne on 25. Oct, 2010 10:07AM in Android, Rumors, Samsung, Tablets

While many of you were unhappy with Verizon’s insane pricing of the new Galaxy Tab, the Wi-Fi only version will cost the same price as a Wi-Fi only iPad: $499.99. This version of the Galaxy Tab has the same specs as the CDMA model from Verizon, and will come in a silver coating. Surely this makes the Galaxy Tab slightly more “reasonable”, no? Via: Pocketables

by Stefan Etienne on 14. Jun, 2010 7:03PM in AT&T, Did You Know?, Internet
Guess what, coffee lovers? Now you won’t have to be an AT&T subscriber or iPhone owner to enjoy free Wi-Fi at Starbucks! Your reign of exclusivity is over, fools! Recently on Starbucks’ Twitter account, the announcement will probably be retweeted around the Twitter waves for quite a bit. Now all I have to do to keep you guys entertained is walk down to that giant Starbucks across the street, and prop up the M11x to churn out some (original) posts.

Android 2.2 Froyo Will Allow Native USB + Wi-Fi Tethering. That’s Standard, Buddy.
by Stefan Etienne on 13. May, 2010 8:50AM in Android, Apps, Google

Google has probably just made one of the best improvements you can make to a smartphone OS, as leaked by TechCrunch: add Wi-Fi hotspot tethering and USB tethering, natively. What the mobile carriers will bother to say about this, I don’t know, but since Android 2.2 will be 450% faster, will have Flash 10.1, and new features like this one, there will be no excuse to ignore Android any longer. None. Good work, Google.
Delayed: iPad Wi-Fi + 3G shipping on May 7th
by Stefan Etienne on 19. Apr, 2010 10:05AM in Apple, Hardware, News, Tablets

In wake of the recent European launch delay, the iPad 3G (you know, with AT&T’s shoddy service, even though the iPad’s is prepaid) the iPad 3G U.S version was due for release “at the end of April”. Well, guess what friends? It’s delayed! Fortunately, the May 7th launch date only seems to be for those of you who didn’t pre-order your 3G iPad; those that did should still get their devices at the end of April.
MSi X600 Notebook Review
by Stefan Etienne on 23. Jan, 2010 10:23PM in Featured, Laptops, Reviews

MSi released the X600 as the larger cousin of the X340, a line of ultraportables that are slim, inexpensive, and look very good for their price range. To phrase it all up in a simple sentence, the X-Series line is a “poor man’s Macbook Air”. Although the price is much lower than its main competitors, the X600 has power and affordability that has yet to be matched by other ultra-sleek computers. That of course, does not mean everything is “happy go lucky”. Nevertheless, the X600 packs a serious punch.
HTC Bravo to ship in March 2010 by 3 Sweden?
by Stefan Etienne on 14. Jan, 2010 2:53PM in Android, HTC, Mobile, Rumors
Remember that leaked HTC roadmap from yesteryear? The HTC Bravo (pictured above) was believed to have been the HTC Passion (which now is the Nexus One). Putting all of that nonsense aside, the HTC Bravo’s release date seems to have been leaked by Swedish carrier 3′s Facebook page, which stated that they would carry the Bravo in March of 2010. That comment has since been removed, but it nearly confirms that the HTC Bravo could also come stateside in March of this year. [Via SlashGear]
Quick recap of the Bravo’s specs, it’s technically a Nexus One without the name:
- 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with 854×480 resolution
- 1Ghz Snapdragon processor
- 16GB microSD card
- Android 2.1 with Sense UI
- GPS, Wi-Fi, and HSPA network access
