HTC Has Its Eye On EVO 4G Screen Sensitivity Issues, Separation Ones Too

The EVO 4G, much like any other handset in the market, has had its fair share of defects and problems. Two of the only real problems with Sprint’s EVO (no, it’s not the battery, its just too powerful for its own good) are the screen slightly separating from the main frame, and the screen being too sensitive. Both, are being resolved by HTC, pronto:

  • The manufacturing process of the EVO is being closely looked at, so that not many screens would “come out” of the frame.
  • As for the sensitivity: a software fix will be blasted over-the-air soon enough.

Nice work, HTC.

Video of the Blackberry Magnum in action: Touchscreen meets keyboard

That leaked image from not too long ago didn’t describe how great the marriage of a touchscreen and keyboard enabled Blackberry could be. A fusion like that, on the Blackberry, makes a super BB. In the video after the cut, the Magnum is put up against the 9700 and the 9000. Major new features include a larger keyboard, optical trackpad and micro USB port. Hopefully at the Mobile World Congress the Magnum will become an actual product. [Via The Celluar Guru]

HTC Supersonic might be rendered, but it goes with the specs

With a leak from yesterday on the HTC Supersonic, a new image rendering has appeared just in time. Now, I have a good feeling that the above image of the HTC Supersonic, an Android with Sense UI phone that’s headed to Sprint and has WiMax, as well as a 4.3-inch touchscreen, is a great Photoshop rendering made by someone who does this for a living. Otherwise though, the appearance of the Supersonic (fake or real) matches up exactly with the leaked specs, and that’s where my doubt comes from. You decide.

iPhone beats Droid, Nexus One, and Droid Eris in touchscreen department

MOTO Development Group has plenty of fingers to go around to test today’s capacitive touchscreens. In a recent DIY and scientific-based test, the iPhone knocked out the Droid, Droid Eris, and Google Nexus One, but only by a slight margin (except the Droid, which is the worst). The lines above, show that the iPhone has sleek, precise lines that are drawn with a finger. The Motorola Droid has the lowest score, while the HTC Droid Eris is only slightly better. The Nexus One? Almost as good as the iPhone. According to MOTO:

The iPhone’s touch sensor showed the most linear tracking with the least amount of stair-stepping. The Droid Eris and Nexus One tied for second with only faint wiggling – but actually performed best at the edge of the screen. Last in the line-up was the Motorola Droid, which demonstrated significant wavy artifacts or “stair-stepping.”

T-Mobile G1 Review: A Look Back in Time

Remember the T-Mobile G1? The very first Android phone? Remember that it has no sense of style and nearly no battery? Well, if you don’t, let me refresh your mind. With talk of the “Official” Google Phone right now, aka the “Nexus One”, it is probably good policy to give a review of the phone that’s closet to being the official Google Phone. I’ll be dividing the review into a few important categories so it’s easy to read and understand. Check it out after the jump.
