ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard is the queen of all boards

When Crysis 2 comes out (or in my case when I buy Wings Of Prey, a top notch WW2 flight sim with killer graphics, or maybe Test Drive Unlimited 2) you would need computer so fast and expensive, your wallet would jump out of your pants and run away. The ASUS Rampage III Extreme is exactly the motherboard that would do all of that and more. Retailing for $379.99 on Newegg, you’d also probably want to use this in building a new PC, rather than upgrading one (that’s your decision of course). It supports USB 3.0, SATA III, 3-Way SLI or CrossFire, and overclocking, all to make sure you wipe-out all of the n00bs and have everyone pwned in the arena. Thumbs up for ORIGIN PC, an up-and-coming high-end gaming computer company created by Alienware execs by offering this motherboard before everyone else.

Google Buzz: The Videos

Need I say more? Mainly from the looks of it, Buzz will be a major player in the smartphone arena, but as for PCs, it’s going to take some pushing. Still, this looks like the perfect Twitter/Facebook enemy.

Google Buzz Launches: Google Goes Twitter

Google Buzz. That’s the name of the new built-in Gmail service from Google. Buzz is used on a computer, and basically combines RSS with social networking at buzz.google.com. The five main features of Buzz are:

  • Automatic friends list (all people you’ve emailed are automatically friends)
  • “Rich fast sharing” squishes things like Twitter and Picasa into a single feed which allows full-size image browsing
  • Public and private sharing (between family and friends)
  • Inbox integration (instead of emailing you every time you have an update, like Facebook, Buzz’s emails update with all new content inside of the email)
  • “Recommended Buzz” puts friend-of-friend content into your feed; say for example you have a friend, Google Buzz recommends your friend’s friends (catchy huh?)

Buzz also works on Android phones and the iPhone from the browser, and offers one-tap location updates. From that point on, Buzz will get local results for anything that you’re looking for.  I’ll be putting up the new Google Buzz videos courtesy of Google in a couple of minutes. [Google Buzz. Lenovo buys back itself (technically) for $200 million

615px-Lenovo_Logo.svg

Lenovo bought back Lenovo Mobile for the tune of $200 million. As you might not know, Lenovo has a mobile division in China sells an Android-based handset.  In fact, Lenovo Mobile is the 3rd most popular handset maker in China. Hopefully with this purchase (re-purchase, whatever you want to call it) Lenovo will bring its handset over here;  Dell is already in the party with its Mini 3i (in China and soon Brazil), so why not the real Lenovo? We’ll just have to wait and see if Lenovo can sum up the courage to actually provide some handsets to the US.

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle: It almost makes sense

4-google-screen

While most blogs are taking the day off, we’re continuing the day’s short supply of news.

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle. To some it might sound downright dumb, some strange, and to other people a person with “Google Fan Syndrome”. What it actually means is a new service that lets you make 4 Google searches all at once. You don’t need to open another tab or window. You just need to endlessly scroll up and down to get anything done. Still, it’s not bad, or perfect either.

Nokia: 14 million chargers have been recalled

charger-exchange-program-600

That’s a lot of recalled chargers right? 14 million, is amount of chargers recalled from Nokia. According to Nokia:

“We have determined that the plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket.”

There is a free exchange program to get rid of your older charger, for a safer one. The chargers effected are the AC-3E and AC-3U, manufactured between June 15 and August 9, 2009, and model AC-4U, manufactured between April 13 and October 25, 2009. Here’s the site you’ll need to go to get your charger replaced: http://chargerexchange.nokia.com/chargerexchange/en/
