In a new press release by PR manager of the Dell Streak, the 5″ Gorilla glass display, 5 megapixel camera dual LED flash, VGA front-facing, 3G/Bluetooth/Wi-FI, Android 1.6 tablet due on AT&T August 13th will be sold for $300 (on AT&T contract) and $550 without.
Dell’s PR agents also mentioned that “We will ship [the] Streak to customers in the US with Android 1.6 and will offer an over-the-air upgrade to Android 2.2 later this year.”
Looks good if you ask me. Expect an unboxing (this week!), video commentary, and full review later next week of Dell’s Streak!

Yes, it’s the Apple iPad. A tablet, which looks like a big iPod Touch. Are you surprised? It’s a “very thin” device at 0.5-inches, as according to Steve Jobs, runs iPhone OS, and you can now add desktop backgrounds to your homescreen. Multimedia is one of the main features of the iPad; watching movies, the full iTunes Store, access to YouTube, in HD, an awesome Email experience, improved Calendar, iPhoto, Maps, an e-reading app called iBooks, iWork for the iPad which has a new UI, and a giant on-screen QWERTY keyboard. The Apple iPad’s screen size is 9.7-inches, and has the same home button a la iPod Touch or iPhone. Fresh from CES, the Dell Streak Tablet Concept is a sleek looking handheld. So far from what the skimpy details say, the Streak runs on Android aaannnd — that’s it. So above is the super glossy Dell Streak, which looks exactly like a giant iPod Touch with a Dell badge on it (just kidding).
If you can’t get an Apple Tablet, you get a Sony Dash!?? Well, that’s what Sony calls it, the Dash Internet Viewer is the full name, and it has access to over a 1,000 Chumby Apps, with Sony stating that they will add Sony Pictures and Sony Music for access to movie trailers, music videos, and so on. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi access, and can be propped up like a digital photo frame, or carried around like a tablet. Going back into Apple Tablet rumors (and full news coverage at LaptopMemo), we’ve learned that the mysterious, strange, and secret Apple tablet has the possible name of iSlate. Why? Well, back in 2007, Apple registered the iSlate domain under an intermediary (so they’re not found out to be the actual owners). Even though this is a double rumor, there are some decent explanations that could explain why Apple owns this domain. first for example, it could just be to protect the “i” that Apple is famous for, or it could be that’s it’s for the tablet, and it could even be for a future project Apple has in mind.
