Alienware M15x Rendered Unusable After BIOS Upgrade? Yup.

Just the time when Dell is going to send LaptopMemo an Alienware M15x (or M17X for that matter) for review, Dell issues a BIOS upgrade that renders users’ machines unusable. Multiple users report that the upgrade only allows you to get past the POST screen — then zip. Zero. Nothing. One user is actually saying that Dell will send him a new motherboard that he’ll install himself. Best tip of the week by the way: do not upgrade your M15x’s BIOS. ‘Kay? Thanks. In the meantime you can wonder what’s going on at the Dell QA forums.

Google Nexus One Suffering from 3G Errors? Is This Even Real?

Something puzzling is going on at the Google Nexus One Support Forums. Several users are reporting of 3G errors where either their N1 would constantly switch between 3G and EDGE, or wouldn’t get 3G signals at all, while if they switch to another manufacturer’s handset, 3G comes out perfectly. Recently at All Things D, Walt Mosseberg was speaking of the support problem, and Andy Rubin commented on it: “we have to get better at customer service”. If this really is the first Nexus One hardware issue, and if this is actually happening, then yes, Google better start learning, and fast.
