Nokia N8 with Symbian^3 fails to impress

Oh, Nokia. As much as I have respect for your name, which is heard so much throughout the world, I can only laugh at the phones you create, which you expect the tech savvy to buy. Geez Nokia, at least you tried with a decent spec sheet: a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen OLED, a 680MHz CPU, 256MB of RAM, swappable microSD capacity up to 32GB, and a 12 megapixel cam, along with the new Symbian^3.

But, you know what Nokia? It. Still. Sucks.

Facebook app for Zune HD finally sees the light of day

In the first looks from many of us gadget bloggers, the above Facebook app for the Zune HD looks pretty solid, doesn’t it? Until the inevitable happens with the Zune HD, because as usual, there’s something that has to go wrong. According to CrunchGear, Devin’s Zune HD won’t update its software because there’s a Wi-Fi error. And yeah, just to get the app you have to update your software. Come on! Many other users are also reporting that as juicy as the app may look, it barely works. Get working on version 1.1, Microsoft! And that’s an order.

E-reader privacy policies: Kindle is watching your every move

In the day of digital reading, you might expect that with the convenience of having all of your books wherever you go, there would be a side-effect. Well, there is one, and it’s not pretty. Above is a chart comparing all e-book sellers in terms of privacy. The Amazon Kindle for example, can track your every e-reading move; from buying the e-book to reading it. Sony and Google Books are on the “I Can See Everything You’re Doing” list, too. And with that, there goes another piece of your privacy: now companies can know what you read, when you read it. But I wonder: doesn’t this breach any privacy acts? Hmm. More info and a bigger chart at the “via” link.

Talk about Israel acting like a bully. Young traveler heads to Jerusalem, gets questioned, then waits and hears gunfire, which hit her 13-inch Macbook Pro.
