Verizon Wireless To Begin Sales Of Droid Charge With 4G LTE Tomorrow For $299

It’s official. The Droid Charge starts the 4G LTE hype again tomorrow, for $299 on a 2-year contract, with insanely fast (and “real”) 4G LTE to boot. I’ve had a Droid Charge with me for a few days, and will be sending out the review this week. Needless to say, it’s very power hungry, but is an amazing handset to use. Verizon Wireless’ official presser is seen after the jump.

Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy Tab To Cost $399.99 On A 2-Year Agreement

So this is interesting. The Wi-Fi only model of the Galaxy Tab will cost $499.99, the Verizon version $599.99, and now the Sprint CDMA variant will cost — $399.99 on November 14th? This is seemingly strange, considering that it’s the same device, priced differently by different companies. As for data pricing, you’ll be paying $29.99 for 2GB a month, on an agreement.

Samsung Galaxy Tab teased again, this time with CDMA

Is this absurd now? Yes, yes it is. For leaked shots of an upcoming device to be so clear and so pretty it is. For the Samsung Galaxy Tab to have a label in the above photo that says “CDMA”, that also is too. So technically, the iAndroid team mentioned that the Galaxy Tab’s strong speakers, call quality, and ability the to run Flash 10.1 on Android 2.2 is a good thing. They also supposedly took the photos, and also mentioned that GPS can be a bit slow. Anywho, I want this thing bad Samsung.

Samsung 90 and 30 series LCDs work as 1080p TVs and computer monitors

I’ve been looking for a low-budget solution Xbox 360 S method of having a computer monitor as a 1080p TV myself. Today Samsung has practically filled out my request by releasing the 90 and 30 series LCDs which range from 21.5- to 24-inches, 1920 x 1080 worth of pixels, and a response time of 5ms, come with remote controls, HDTV tuners, and built-in speakers (!).

The $420, 24-inch 90 Series offers LED-backlighting and a retina-punishing 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, while the 21.5-, 23-, and 24-inch 30 Series makes do with a smaller 70,000:1 dynamic ratio at prices ranging from $270 to $330. Basically Samsung just created two lines of high-res, 1080p HD, multi-function, cheap but high quality TVs/computer monitors, which are shipping now. Expect a review of these bad boys soon enough here on the site.

Press release after the jump!

Samsung Fascinate & Gem Android phones make Verizon-bound appearances

Both running Android 2.1 with Touchwiz 3.0 (Android 2.2 updates coming up) are proof why Samsung wants to own the Android marketplace so bad — they’ve created an entry-level handset, outside of the high-end galaxy S line called the Gem. The handset on the left is the Samsung Fascinate, aka Galaxy S for Verizon. It boasts the same specs as its rivals on AT&T and T-Mobile (Captivate and Vibrant, respectively).

With that out of the way, we can focus on the Gem’s release date a little bit more. It’s due in September, just like it’s cousin — the Fascinate. And if you’re asking why, please email Verizon’s marketing and project management teams and ask them if the Samsung line is more important to them — than the August 12th bound DROID 2.

HTC switches to Super LCDs for the HTC Desire and Nexus One

As you may or may have not heard, Samsung is having a heck of a time producing Super AMOLED and regular AMOLED screens, and only wants to keep the screens for its Galaxy S line phones. Whereas Sony is full of Super LCD screens, which are very close to AMOLED screens and can be read in direct sunlight. HTC’s CEO Peter Chou remarked that the SLCDs are “comparable” to the older screens and offers more battery life.

Strangely, the Droid Incredible (which has stocking issues because of this) wasn’t mentioned in the press release. Otherwise, the SLCD rollout is “later this summer”, for the international Nexus One sold overseas (even though it’s not in the U.S) and HTC Desire. PR after the cut!

Hands-On: Samsung Intercept with Sprint (yay, video!)

The Samsung Intercept, aka Moment2, just strolled by (in the form of a BBQ-eating family attendee). To cut the story short, the lighting conditions and amount of space available was epically abysmal, on top of the Panasonic LUMIX G10′s poor ISO performance. Forgive me for the shots, but you can take a short look at the Intercept by watching the video after the cut.

Hands-On With The Samsung Intercept

The handset itself is plasticky, with a 3.2 megapixel camera with poor ISO performance, but great daylight shots. Coupled with Sprint 3G, Android 2.1 with a light version of Touchwiz 3.0 (FroYo comes this summer), and a 3.2-inch 800 x 480 WVGA resolution AMOLED display, which for some reason didn’t quite impress me much like other AMOLED Android offerings. The same also goes for the entire phone, though the keyboard can beat the Ally’s and Droid’s by a mile. Video after the break!

Samsung Vibrant’s T-Mobile release going early — July 15th

So for whatever reason T-Mobile has decided that the Samsung Vibrant (a Galaxy S phone) is coming on July 15th, for $199 on a 2-year agreement. Maybe it could be that  T-Mobile is trying to dodge the DROID X release by exactly two days?

Whatever the reason, it would be nice if someone (preferably T-Mobile) tells us why.
