Samsung Continuum Hands-On (now with video!)

The event is over and now it’s time for a hands-on. Every Samsung Continuum has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen at 800x480 pixels, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD recording, 1.8-inch ticker display that supports RSS feeds, missed notifications, tweets, and everything else, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and finally Android 2.1 with Touchwiz 3.0. An Android 2.2 update is inbound according to the guys on the ground. Hit up the gallery below for the hands-on!

With a Samsung Moible event starting in just about an hour or so, I’ve just stumbled upon a Samsung Continuum poster, along with the official Twitter announcement of the Samsung Continuum, another Galaxy S phone bound for Verizon on the 11th. Check out the status update from Samsung below, and wait for the official announcement, specs, and of course, a hands-on with the first ever Android smartphone with a “ticker display” right here, on LaptopMemo. We’ll figure out just exactly what that ticker display is in a moment.
Possibly in preparation for tonight’s press event in a location that I won’t disclose (but I’ll be there, no doubt), the Samsung Continuum 185-page user guide and 360 degree view app are both live. Hit up the links below to see this dual-screen Super AMOLED device.
While it is a boring Sunday for tech news and Halloween for some, that doesn’t stop me looking for the best stuff to put out for you guys to read, does it? The Samsung Continuum, recognized by me in its unusually long-profile, is seen above and the label insides the battery compartment is after the break. This recent filing, along with others using the same model number, possibly variants, made on the 28th shows proof that the Samsung Continuum is in fact the device we’ll be seeing on the 8th of November. Now I just have to be there to figure that out, which I will.
