Samsung Continuum Hands-On (now with video!)

The event is over and now it’s time for a hands-on. Every Samsung Continuum has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen at 800x480 pixels, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD recording, 1.8-inch ticker display that supports RSS feeds, missed notifications, tweets, and everything else, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and finally Android 2.1 with Touchwiz 3.0. An Android 2.2 update is inbound according to the guys on the ground. Hit up the gallery below for the hands-on!

Samsung Continuum Confirmed By Samsung Mobile On Twitter

With a Samsung Moible event starting in just about an hour or so, I’ve just stumbled upon a Samsung Continuum poster, along with the official Twitter announcement of the Samsung Continuum, another Galaxy S phone bound for Verizon on the 11th. Check out the status update from Samsung below, and wait for the official announcement, specs, and of course, a hands-on with the first ever Android smartphone with a “ticker display” right here, on LaptopMemo. We’ll figure out just exactly what that ticker display is in a moment.

Samsung Continuum Sits On Verizon Wireless Holiday Page

Is that the Samsung Continuum? Yes it is! The little sucker has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED and the “ticker” notification screen making it a dual-screen phone. It also uses Bing as the default search option, but it being (purportedly) Android 2.2, you can make a trip to the Android Market to get the Google Search widget and app. The announcement seems to be on the 8th (or the Nexus S?), so by then we’ll have a price and release date.

Samsung Continuum Just Passed By The FCC’s Desk?

While it is a boring Sunday for tech news and Halloween for some, that doesn’t stop me looking for the best stuff to put out for you guys to read, does it? The Samsung Continuum, recognized by me in its unusually long-profile, is seen above and the label insides the battery compartment is after the break. This recent filing, along with others using the same model number, possibly variants, made on the 28th shows proof that the Samsung Continuum is in fact the device we’ll be seeing on the 8th of November. Now I just have to be there to figure that out, which I will.

Samsung Getting New Android Device Out On November 8th

While I may have not received my invitation yet (trust me, I’ll make it there), Samsung seems to be getting a new Android device announced on November 8th that uses Touchwiz 3.0. Interestingly, my “tingly-senses” tell me that it’ll be the Samsung Continuum, a dual-screen Super AMOLED handset with decent battery life. I’ll be announcing on Twitter if I get to make it over to Samsung’s NYC gig, since I’ll be at CES Preview the day after (where Samsung will be present), and then all the way until the 13th. Via: BGR
