Reporting! Verizon Droid Shadow and DROID 2 Appear In Verizon’s Systems

Hear that siren! No you don’t? OK then, well whatever, because DroidLife doesn’t hear it either. The dudes who live lives as Droids have uncovered the Motorola Droid 2 and Droid Shadow residing peacefully in Verizon’s internal systems (they’re internal, don’t ask us where they are, ’cause we know). Other than the fact that they are there and they are in VZW’s systems, that’s all good for Android, right? Hopefully so.

Is This The Droid 2′s QWERTY Keyboard? Looks Like It.

The Droid 2 by Motorola, or otherwise officially known as the Motorola DROID Shadow at the moment, has recently gotten a new leak by Mr. BlurryCam, clearly showcasing the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Thankfully, the keyboard looks more comfortable than its earlier cousin, the Droid’s. This could actually be the Android keyboard that we’ve all been waiting for.

But, on the flipside of things, Droid Life has recently acquired a picture of the Droid2 appearing in Verizon’s systems. Of course, anyone could fake it using Photoshop. But which carrier would carry the Droid name if it wasn’t Verizon itself? Interesting thought, isn’t it?

And on another flipside of things, Engadget has a new source claiming that the inventory listing mentioned above is for that second Droid talked about earlier. Ah, the complex world of “leaks”.

Samsung SGH-i897: Android 2.1 Rockin’, 4-Inch AMOLED, Headed For AT&T

Well, lookie: the first desirable Android handset that is coming to AT&T (surely). Besides the 4-inch AMOLED screen, Android 2.1, a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a Snapdragon processor purportedly and hopefully running at 1Ghz, there’s the AT&T startup screen meaning that this little guy would be the first real Android on AT&T (remember that the Motorola BACKFLIP is a terrible excuse for a smartphone). Now the only thing I’d like more than a release date, review unit, and pricing details is a name for this thing.

We can’t keep on calling it by its model number, “SGH-i897″, can we?

White iPhone 4G Spotted: This Is Getting Annoyingly Repetitive

It’s another next-gen iPhone, but in — white. There’s not much else to talk about here, not much interesting here, and not too long until the 15 days passes until we see a new iPhone. Thanks, but no thanks. But at least you can say the new the new iPhone 4 will have a faceplate in white other than the 3GS, which uses black and white on the back.

Android “Gingerbread” Coming Q4 2010, After FroYo Of Course

While the world awaits the Android 2.2 FroYo launch at Google I/O, we’re already pondering “Gingerbread” to come after the frozen yogurt that Google is keeping the freezer for me to eat later.  Yes, Gingerbread is coming at the perfect time, which is Q4 2010, and that’s Christmas time of course. Gingerbread’s first known feature will be full WebM open source video format support, which was only unveiled yesterday.

iPhone (HD?) to record 720p HD video according to code

While some dissect the new iPhone OS 4.o Beta 3 in hopes of new features, others like the more advanced and iPhone OS-gifted type, find just what a daily gadget news blog is looking for. That is of course, two code snippets referring to 640x480 video capture and 1280x720 HD modes as seen in the following:

AVCaptureSessionPreset640×480

AVCaptureSessionPreset1280×720

As a matter of fact, this would only increase the chance the new iPhone is called “iPhone HD”, since the screen resolution has been bumped up, along with the camera, and now purportedly HD video recording. iLike this iDea.

Blackberry T slider makes an ugly appearance running OS 6

The Blackberry T (for Talladega) is that other slider besides the even more ugly 9670. The picture taken on the right which can only be described as being a work of art by Mr. BlurryCam himself, originates from BBLeaks. Also present if you squint your eyes a little (or a lot) are the appearances of Blackberry 6, the new unreleased operating system from RIM. So, Bold 9670 or the equally ugly Blackberry T? It’s not that hard of a choice.

iPod Touch with camera appears on eBay, then vanishes on eBay

It’s been rumored for longer that you can even remember, but an iPod Touch with a camera is probably something that will eventually happen. Some folks who previously bought these Touches at an auction (some story, huh?) posted both of them up on eBay; one doesn’t boot at all, and the other uses an iPhone OS test system, meaning that neither iPod is actually functional, and the cameras can’t be tested (or trusted).  The eBay listing has ended prematurely though, which only leaves suspicion if they were actually real, or to bring some excitement for an upcoming iPod Touch with camera launch. At least 9to5Mac snapped up all of the images.
