Samsung Official Busts And Crushes Nexus S Rumor

If you remember the saga that is the Samsung Continuum on November 8th then a rumor turning it into the Nexus S or Nexus Two, a Korean site by the name of danawa.com quotes a Samsung official stating that the entire rumor is a false alarm, especially when Giz created the mockup above representing what was seen in person. This begs to be argued with, because Google did deny they were in the process of making the Nexus One — when they were making the Nexus One. In the same way Facebook denies a Facebook Phone, but they’re holding a mobile event in a few days (although it really doesn’t look like they’re making one).

But now, the only way to figure this all out is to follow LaptopMemo from the November 8th press event and see what happens, right?

Motorola WX445 is Verizon’s answer to the mediocre Android phone

With all of those nice smartphone (ahem, superphones) out there, would you really buy something that’s sub-par (read: sucks)? In Engadget’s case, the source mentioned that it’s “cheaper looking” than a Palm Pre Plus, and is just “not a very impressive phone.” It has a small 2.5 to 3 inch screen, a terribly small 1170mAh battery, and lastly a flash-less camera with Android 2.1 and MOTOBLUR (possibly the DROID X’s version).

Pass?

Samsung Intercept intercepts your July 4th for a quick hands-on (video)

The Samsung intercept — more like the Samsung Moment’s successor — is a classy Android 2.1 slider with the Touchwiz 3.0 UI (FroYo comes this summer), a 3.2-inch screen and 3.2 megapixel camera, with a 800 x 480 WVGA resolution gracing the new AMOLED screen, and a keyboard that seems revamped and improved. The ports and buttons have also been completely redesigned and re-calibrated, so it’s really worth 4 minutes and 7 seconds of your time if you’re looking into a slider on Sprint that’s not as high-end as the Epic 4G.

Samsung Creating A Blackberry Opposition, AKA The “Galaxy Q”?

It’s time for the rumor news! According to a rumor/jubba hubba by a dude I know of called Bettiol, Samsung is preparing a handset that would grab the eyes of Blackberry users in the U.S.of A. Also, Samsung is thought to be negotiating with AT&T and Verizon to get the handset out by the end of this year. The device could have a QWERTY keyboard, and a display (possibly touchscreen, possibly not, but possibly touchscreen for sure!). Besides the name “Galaxy Q” though, there’s nothing else we can chime in about. So, I’ll leave it at that.

**I wonder what the name could be? Maybe SamBerry? Or how about BlackSung?

Droid X sides along the Eris, EVO 4G, and iPhone in leaked shot

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Look at this mates: the Droid X, alongside the Droid Eris, EVO 4G, and iPhone 3GS. And guess what? The Droid X is a massive slab of awesomeness with a completely re-tuned version of MOTOBLUR. And I’d also like to say it’s slighty bigger than the EVO 4G (read: I’m serious). Check out the shots at the source link and the rest of the fine work made possible by Android Forums user matrix2004. Droid X FTW? Possibly.

LEAKED: Sony Ericsson Tries To Save Itself With 2 New Androids

Sony Ericsson is the first company to ever use the 1Ghz Snapdragon chip in a handset, and that handset being the XPERIA X10. Though as recent reviews have pinned it, the X10 isn’t too glamorous as its rivals: the Nexus One, Droid, Incredible, iPhone, and EVO 4G (yes, I mentioned 4 different Android phones in there). Still, Sony Ericsson is still kicking out gadgets: in a new leak, the phone on the left (called Shakira) is thought to be like the X10 except smaller, though not ‘mini’ the the X10 Mini (makes no sense if you ask me). On the more exciting part of things, the “big black thing with a screen” on the right is thought to be a curious smartbook of sorts, and has a 5″ screen with Android 2.1.

One final question Sony: will busting out new Androids save you, or will actual “good thinking and innovation” do the job? I’m simply asking.

Safari 5 makes debut at WWDC with a boatload of HTML5?

According to French blog MacGeneration, Steve Jobs (and/or Apple) will make the Safari 5 announcement which is purportedly going to include the new Safari Reader, a 25% bump/jump in JavaScript performance, the option to make Bing the default search engine (an obvious sign of Jobs’ war on Google), 12+ new HTML5 features,  newer developer tools, and hardware acceleration (yes?) for Windows. It could all be good, but I don’t see Safari giving Mac or Windows users the urge to switch to it from Google’s Chrome. Rightfully so, Chrome right now is untouchable. Firefox 4 who?

Extremely Repetitive: The iPhone 4, Torn Apart, This Time In Portugal

The iPhone 4. If there has been one handset, one gadget, one phone that has had the most success, then the iPhone 4 will be known as the most annoyingly repetitive to write down reports about. Starting with the Giz fiasco, then the Vietnamese, then some weird Chinese, and now the people of Portugal have posted a video of the iPhone 4′s outer casing. While nobody can verify if this set if authentic, you can just watch the videos after the break, to decide for yourself. Oh, and BTW, isn’t Steve going to be at Walt Mosseberg’s D8 conference tonight? I figured, maybe something will show up there.
