Olympus E-P2: More than the E-P1, but more in price

500x_ep2new_01

The Olympus E-P2 is like a camera patch. In this case, a DSLR patch. It’s patching the problems of the previous E-P1, but is $300 dollars more.  Let’s just say this has a couple more bells and whistles that may or may not improve the shots of the previous E-P1. This 12.3 megapixel, $1,099,  VF-2 electronic viewfinder, retro-looking DSLR, with black coating, is $300 dollars more than the E-P1. So you could say it’s an improvement in every sense of the word.

Coming this January in 2 configurations:

E-P2 Body with ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens and EVF: $1100
E-P2 Body with 17mm f2.8 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens and EVF: $1100

T-Mobile is down everywhere: but I can call 1 person

tmo-630x97

Even though there has been numerous reports that T-Mobile’s service in the USA is down, I was just able to call a friend who is with T-Mobile. So what exactly is going on here T-Mo? Oh and by the way: T-Mobile FAIL. You just messed up with the Sidekick and now this?

T-Mobile’s statement:

“T-Mobile customers may be experiencing service disruptions impacting voice and data. Our rapid response teams have been mobilized to restore service as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as more information is available.”

Update:

Another statement from T-Mobile:

We’re making good progress restoring voice and messaging service to affected customers. At this time, approximately 5 percent of T-Mobile customers are experiencing service disruptions. Issues began at approximately 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. Our rapid response team is working continuously to fully resolve this disruption. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused our customers

IREX DR800SG pricing revealed, sort of: $449 at BestBuy

dr800

Okay, let’s get this straight. The Barnes & Noble Nook has 2 screens, runs Android, and has a bunch of new and cool features for $259. The IREX DR800SG e-reader that’s also going to use the Barnes E-Bookstore costs $449!? Maybe it’s because of that stylus and leather case? It was supposed to be $399. Now that competitive! Wait for it, wait for it:

Remember that BestBuy has a history of getting prices wrong before a product come out, and then corrects it afterwards. So, maybe it will be $399 after all. Oh, and by the way, I’m on the list for this one, so I might just be able to get a review on it.

Rainbow Pentax K-x is modeled after Japanese toy?!?

500x_korejanai_pentax-620x465

The Pentax K-x, an entry-level DSLR, is going to have a “limited edition” of itself in Japan. It’s more like a 12.1 megapixel Rainbow Pentax K-x, but it’s called the Robotic Colors K-x. It will retail for $880, with only 100 that are going to be made. Note to reader, the Pentax K-x for the USA will only come in Navy, Red, Black, and White, and will retail for $649.

BTW, the toy is a robot called Kore Ja Nai. Crazy Japanese.
