Sony’s Siren: Don’t Turn On Your (Fat) PS3 If You Have Error 8001050F!!

Wow. Last night what was only deemed a minor hiccup which escalated to a major error has now turned into a monster. Sony is advising 1st generation PlayStation 3 owners NOT to turn on their systems, because the clock bug would cause data loss. So while you’re trying to find ways on how to entertain yourself, feel free to read more posts from us throughout the day, because Sony doesn’t want you to use your PS3 for the next 24 hours. Don’t believe me? Here’s Sony:

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

NetFlix headed to PS3 next month

ps3flix

Time to catch up on the news here at LaptopMemo.

NetFlix is headed to the PS3! It lets all you NetFlix subscribers watch all your movies on your PS3 without charging you a penny. Except, in order to stream content to your PS3, you have to have a “special NetFlix disc”. That makes me feel that the PS3 is a PS2! Why not just provide through the PS3′s Internet connection without the need of a dumb plastic disc? It’s almost low-tech.

Initially, watching movies instantly streamed from Netflix via the PS3 system will be enabled by a free, instant streaming Blu-ray disc that is being made available to all Netflix members. The free instant streaming disc leverages Blu-ray’s BD-Live™ technology to access the Internet and activate the Netflix user interface on the PS3 system, which must be online via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Oh well, it’s coming to your PS3 nevertheless.

BREAKING NEWS
