Andrew Kim’s ‘HTC 1′ is the best concept Android phone ever designed

The HTC 1 is the only phone that I wish HTC could make, besides a high-end slidey Android. A new Sense UI looks like a cleaner and higher-end approach to skinning with Synergy-like actions (combined messaging) with a large Helvetica interface that looks streamlined. The HTC 1, if ever built, would include stereo speakers (at the top and bottom of the handset), a kickstand which is actually the bottom portion of the casing (epic!), and the from-the-future concept of a built-in UV light that kills germs on the surface of the phone while you charge it up. The entire glory of Andrew Kim’s design concept of the sexiest Android phone to date is at the “source” link.

OLPC XO-3 Tablet To Use Android At First, Will Be At CES 2011

The OLPC XO-3 tablet renderings were deemed as the “Apple tablet killer fantasy”. It was extremely thin, possibly had multitouch, was durable, has a camera, and was a full-fledged super tablet (I won’t say the word super tablet again, I promise). Now Nicholas Negroponte, the inventor of the One Laptop Per Child project, has announced a ton of new details at an MIT Media Lab Event.

The upcoming OLPC XO-3 will run Android at first, then might use OLPC’s own custom OS later on, will appear at CES 2011, and OLPC is working with Marvell and Pixel Qi to create a “dual-mode” screen, which in theory (and hope) will make the entire tablet cost only $75. The hardest part of developing the OLPC XO-3 will be to make it completely out of plastic, as early models will use a glass screen, and will use an ARM processor coupled with Android. While it may never look like those dreamy renders, it will look (or at least be), unique and fit for 3rd world children.

WarMouse Meta: the OpenOfficeMouse in a Darth Vader suit

image

Remember the OpenOffice Mouse? Well, if you were following that correctly, you would know that it was in the prototype stage. So now it’s finished, and it has a new name — WarMouse Meta; which contains a 5600 CPI laser. Maybe it wants to start and war with other mice? Or maybe the name is like that because it now looks like Darth Vader? I’m confused.

Motorola Droid prototype sitting on Ebay? Hmm.

moto-droid-proto-11-21-09

Ebay, the auctioning site of despair (I’m not kidding). But hey, here’s a Motorola Droid prototype! Maybe this is real?? After all, you can tell that it doesn’t look like a normal Droid with all of the bright LEDs and chrome bezel, and it’s not priced like one either; bidding starts at $485. Although this could also be a modded Droid, so it could look like a prototype. It’s your take I guess.

Intel has new prototype laptop with 4 screens! Yes, FOUR!

tangent_bay_500x375

Intel, the jumbo maker of processors has released something very “interesting” to say the least. What you have here is a laptop with 4 screens. Yes, you’re looking at a 15-inch laptop with 3 extra screens for doing “other stuff”. What sort of other stuff? Well, for example you could drag and drop files from each to screen to the other. You could also drag and drop a video up to the main screen. Which means the Lenovo W700ds is no longer cool because it only has 2 screens. Now we’re saying 2 screens is too little…

Here’s a hands-on video by Engadget:

The Nokia RX-5 Tablet prototype! All right, all right, I don’t know what carrier it’s going to be with, or the price, or the final design (although this should be), but I do know the some of the features, which aren’t too shabby at all:

I just hope that it’s with a good carrier, for example Sprint (is it a good carrier??) or T-Mobile. Although it would have been better if it was running Andriod…
