Well, it costs $139.99, starts shipping June 10th at Barnes & Noble, BestBuy, Walmart and others, contains a Pearl E-Ink touchscreen that is 6-inches, lasts 2 months on a single charge (a month longer than the Kindle), only has one button compared to the Kindle’s 38 buttons (is that really, actually good?), built-in WiFi with free access at all B&N stores and AT&T hotspots, social media features for sharing via Facebook, Twitter and others, weighs a mere 7.5 ounces, has a microSD card slot, and the all-new Nook Friends which allows you to follow other Nook users to see what they’re reading, and also the older feature which allows you to loan books to friends.

So Nook for PC has been brought to life again, while the iPhone and iPad versions also get new features. While the PC gets the least of the bunch, the iPhone and iPad app updates bring in tons of new goodies (themes, day / night content options, line spacing, font styles, preferred justification, previews, etc.), along with a load of other stuff not worth the extra writing time.

Starting today at the Android Market or http://www.bn.com/nookforandroid, the free NOOK for Android app allows for several type fonts, sizes, the lending feature found on the physical Nook eBook Reader, and you’ll need at least Android 1.6 for it to work, with a B&N account which will allow you to sync all of the books that you’ve been reading, even on the different platforms. PR after the “more” link.

You do? You should. Well, let’s cut to the chase and jump to the news. The Nook you used to know about retails for $199 (comes with 3G, remember?), and a new Wi-Fi only model announced today retails for $149. Before the original Nook retailed for $259, and the Wi-Fi one didn’t exist. Another nice bonus is that this Wi-Fi Nook is all white, completing its design in the process. Good work Barnes & Noble. Oh, one more thing! The new Nook 1.4 Android 1.6 firmware allows you to use AT&T Wi-Fi for free, anywhere.
