Motorola ATRIX 4G Now Has Gingerbread And 1080p HD Playback

Two greats things added to the 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 Motorola Atrix 4G (really HSPA+) on AT&T. One, that Android 2.3.4 with the Motorola UI is available for install, however as a manual download and install, rather than an over-the-air-update (OTA). Second is that 1080p HD video playback is now enabled, so your YouTube vids just got better without any hardware changes. Other improvements pertain to the MotoBlur UI, including faster Webtop browsing. You can also allow non-Market apps to get installed on the Atrix 4G, like Amazon App Store.

All the extra info you’d need are at the source links.

Motorola’s XPRT And Titanium Android Phones Announced On Sprint

Here are two Droid Pro lookalikes: the Motorola XPRT and Titanium, both for Sprint. The XPRT uses Android 2.2 (Froyo) with MOTOBLUR, 3.1-inch touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera, a full QWERTY keyboard with BlackBerry-style buttons, with a 1GHz processor and Adobe Flash 10 support. On the flipside, the Motorola Titanium is Sprint’s successor to the older Motorola i1, and it will be a military-grade ruggedized smartphone using Android 2.1 (Eclair, are you serious?!), QWERTY keypad, again a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera, Push to Talk support with dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature resistance. The new Sprint phones will be launched soon: XPRT will be launched in June 5th for $129.99 on contract basis; details for the Titanium are not available yet.

End Of The Day News: Motorola Atrix 4G Priced And Dated

So, it’s Thursday night. Not that that means anything, other than some lonely tech stories and the pricing with release date for the Tegra 2 dual-core Android 2.2 powerhouse — the Motorola Atrix 4G.

First off, all by itself, the Atrix will cost you $200 on a 2-year agreement with AT&T, and comes out on the 6th of March. If you want the snazzy laptop dock that turns the phone into a laptop that can browse the full web on Firefox (why not Chrome, Motorola?), then you can pay $500 for both the phone and the dock. The Catch-22 here is that the dock costs $500 with the phone, and $500 without the phone. So really, if you want the dock, it’d be better to shell out $500. And if you can’t stop, then invest in the Entertainment Access Kit, which has a Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote control for $189.99 — because Motorola really likes your money.

But hey, what’s wrong with a $200 dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2, Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR, 1GB of RAM, 4-inch qHD high-res display, 5 megapixel camera (720HD recording and 1080p HD through an upcoming update) with a VGA front-facing cam, and HSPA+/4G Android phone? Nothing wrong with that awesome spec sheet, right?

PR after the line-break.

Motorola ATRIX 4G has dual-core CPU, smartbook accessory

This is Motorola’s entry into the “4G” (HSPA+/fake 4G) market, and the ATRIX is perfectly fit for that. This seems to be the Motorola Olympus that we all knew and loved, and contains a dual-core 1GHz processor paired with 1GB of RAM, qHD high-res display, HSPA+ (4G) radio from AT&T, 1930 mAh battery, and Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR. There’s also an accessory that contains a keyboard, laptop battery, and display that allows the ATRIX 4G to dock into and be used like a laptop. So, who’s ready to rock on with this, the HTC Inspire 4G, or a certain Samsung Infuse 4G (the awesome one)?

Motorola Olympus Bought At A Flea Market, Running MotoBlur And FroYo

Wait a minute here. Before we get on with the story that my dudes and dudettes at Gizmodo broke, we have to ask ourselves something: did this person really buy the Motorola Olympus at a flea market? No one can be sure, but hey, the reader powered it on, said it used Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR, has an HDMI-out, a front-facing camera, and the body looks like a larger version of the Motorola Defy with instead a 4-inch screen and Tegra 2 processor. Hit up Giz for the rest of the shots; this looks to be AT&T’s best Android yet. Hopefully they won’t cripple it. Via: Giz
