iTunes In The Cloud Also Has iTunes Match
by Stefan Etienne on 06. Jun, 2011 3:13PM in Apple, Breaking, Mobile
Hey, more news from WWDC 2011, if you can take it! Something that was very much expected was iTunes in the cloud. You can sync your songs to the cloud and have them mirrored to your all your iOS devices (up to 10) at 256kbps quality. Previous songs that you did not purchase from iTunes can be accessed for $25 a year via iTunes Match, which will have the DRM overlords happy. The special thing about iTunes Match i that it matches your songs with the ones seen in the iTunes music store, which means nothing is uploaded, just copied in a few minutes. It’s a smart move, even though it’s DRM-focused.
iOS 4.3.3 Has Been Released
by Stefan Etienne on 04. May, 2011 1:38PM in Apple, Breaking, Did You Know?

So, iOS 4.3.3 is here. This mainly will rectify the public concern with the crowd-sourced location database that Apple was building by using users iPhones and iPads to build the data. What happens here is that all of your previously visited locations aren’t backed up to iTunes, and if you turn off Location Services, the data-collector would be turned off as well. All you need in order to start the update is plug in your iDevice to iTunes, like I am right now with the iPad 2. Oh, and the update is a rather large 607MB, by the way.

The Apple iOS App Store has hit 10 billion downloads, which is a number higher than the population of Earth. So, it’s pretty epic no? Now they’re probably waiting on the next milestone already. Via: iTunes
Apple Strangles Music Publishers A Bit, Releases 90 Second Previews
by Stefan Etienne on 09. Dec, 2010 10:04AM in Apple, Apps
There was talk of 90-second previews coming to the iTunes Store for music a while now, and it turns out the feature has been turned on, at least for big-name record labels. The usual 30-second demos still are the majority though, and the 90-second previews will be slowly rolled out to more albums and songs. And now I wonder if Apple has extended any of the Buddha Bar previews. Via: AppleInsider (outsider?)
Apple Puts The iPad In The Game By Upgrading It To iOS 4.2
by Stefan Etienne on 22. Nov, 2010 8:42AM in Apple, Apps, Breaking
Apple has taken the iPad, turned it into a an extremely successful device, but left out AirPlay (over-the-air content sharing), AirPrint (wireless printing), multitasking, GameCenter, and a ton of other essential features found in the iPhone and iPod Touch. Starting today, iOS 4.2 is available for download on all the aforementioned iOS devices. In the meantime, get your iTunes 10.1 client started, plug in your iPad, and get the update now. Via: Apple PR
Apple iTunes Planning Something Big Tomorrow. Like, Really Big.
by Stefan Etienne on 15. Nov, 2010 10:34AM in Apple, Breaking, Did You Know?
What’s this? A splash screen on the Apple homepage stating at 10AM Eastern, 7AM Pacific, and is regarded to be something from or for iTunes. What could it be? Will Ping cease to exist (please, please, please)? Will there be more music and video? iOS 4.2? You’ll have to wait until tomorrow at those times to find out. Via: Apple
