iOS 4.3 beta now available to developers, with several (good) features
by Stefan Etienne on 12. Jan, 2011 5:24PM in Apple, Breaking

Starting right now, if you have a developer membership for iOS, you can download the new iOS 4.3 beta 1 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Major things to note of include personal hotspot capability (but only if your carrier activates it), the ability to switch between the mute button or screen orientation lock for the iPad, AirPlay for third-party apps to an Apple TV, a few new multitouch gestures for iPad, and lastly, not being able to roll back from the beta; you’d have to wait for the final version to get anywhere else. Otherwise, get downloading, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Google Voice Calls iPad And iPod Touch To Enter The Club, In A Half-Baked Way
by Stefan Etienne on 14. Dec, 2010 11:52AM in Apps, Did You Know?, Google

In the world of the Phantom Tollbooth they’d call this a “half-baked idea” or a “half-baked dessert”. Say what you want, GVoice is official on the iPad and iPod Touch. Before you go “yippe-kay-yea”, this only enables the very basic features of Google Voice, while the calling feature (which is essentially a basic one) calls one of you phones, which in turn calls the person you’ve selected. Think of it as using a phone to call a phone, then to call another phone. It’s available now from the App Store, and is probably worth the download. Via: Google Voice Blog

Fresh from CES, the Dell Streak Tablet Concept is a sleek looking handheld. So far from what the skimpy details say, the Streak runs on Android aaannnd — that’s it. So above is the super glossy Dell Streak, which looks exactly like a giant iPod Touch with a Dell badge on it (just kidding).
