iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 Released To Developers…Then Gets Pulled. So Yeah, That’s It

So yeah, iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 got released to paying iPhone developers, then got pulled. And that’s pretty much the whole report right there; we don’t have any idea how this happened, and why, but we do know that something very interesting would be happening if that just pulled it off the server like that. And there’s the end of this not-so-professional post. Hope you like it, cheers.

Apple’s WWDC 10 event starts off on June 7th

When the words “Worldwide Developer Conference” appears on your computer screen, the first word that comes to mind is “meh”. But that’s were the new iPhone and Mac OS X was debuted last year! iPhone OS 4.0 Code Has Video Chat? All Of It Looks Very Plausible

I’m not a person to say no to some code found in the new iPhone OS 4.0 SDK, but is this really going to prove that video chat comes to the iPhone? If you take this from the always-needy gadget blogger perspective that most of us have, yes. 9to5Mac claims that some of the code above seems to be related to the Game Center, so you could have video chats with a friend, and possible video chats with several people at once? So then technically a better iChat would make its way to the iPhone? That’s another yes.

But where things actually start to make you think it’s possible is when you figure out that iChat on the iPhone wouldn’t be a convenience. It would be necessary. If Cupertino finally has the guts to add multitasking to their operating system, they can also add video chat and conferencing, right?

Adobe’s Strong Message On Quote: “Go Screw Yourself Apple.”

With the launch of iPhone OS 4.0 beta, there were 1500 new APIs added to the SDK as Apple CEO Steve Jobs claimed. But something even more radical and important changed (besides the addition of multitasking), and it’s the largest stab in the stomach a company like Adobe can take: Getting your product virtually banned from the device. The change? This: “applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer”.

What does this mean? Technically, it means that the new version of Adobe’s widely-used (that’s still not the word to describe how far it goes) Flash platform launching three days is now useless and absolutely expelled from the making of iPhone apps. If this change didn’t occur, you could port Flash games and apps directly to the iPhone, with little hassle.

And here’s what Adobe Platform Evangelist Lee Brimelow had to say a few minutes ago: Go Screw Yourself Apple. Harsh. In fact the entire post is, and in fact the first sentence has been removed by Adobe. Keep in mind this isn’t a crazy employee blowing off steam to keep themselves busy. Here’s a few paragraphs from his post:

iPhone OS 4.0 event being held April 8th!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. It looks like it’s pouring apples! Apple has officially announced that iPhone OS 4.0 will have an event of its own in 3 days time — April 8th. You know what that means: new iPhone afterwards. This is still developing, so sit tight for an update…

This announcement comes only days after the iPad launch, hinting at something big in the works at the cubicles of Cupertino. For sure, developers will have the chance to incorporate new features into their apps, and will possible learn and have more tools to develop apps on the iPad, creating even better experiences. Also, since this OS has the word “iPhone” in it, you can be betting the Internets that there will be some new iPhone 4 rumors popping about. Anyway, we’ll know more in 3 days.
