Interesting HTC Desire unboxing and first run (video)

Well lookie here! We haven’t seen a HTC Desire unboxing before have we? While the retail packaging is not final, we at least have another good look from an Italian site at the brownish HTC Desire due on AT&T pretty soon, and of course there’s the story we broke, where the Desire might just come over to T-Mobile USA as according to store managers who’ve been testing it. Anyways, grab yourself a small bag of popcorn, and listen to jazz, which is highly unusual for the unboxing video embedded after the break.

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle: It almost makes sense

4-google-screen

While most blogs are taking the day off, we’re continuing the day’s short supply of news.

GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle. To some it might sound downright dumb, some strange, and to other people a person with “Google Fan Syndrome”. What it actually means is a new service that lets you make 4 Google searches all at once. You don’t need to open another tab or window. You just need to endlessly scroll up and down to get anything done. Still, it’s not bad, or perfect either.

Chrome OS coming in 1 more week? Will it even work?

Well, well, well. Over at TechCrunch another “reliable source” claims that the Chrome OS  (yeah, the Google Chrome OS) is coming to the face of the world next week. Next week is a little early isn’t it? It was supposed to come out in the 2nd quarter next year….

Keechrome_logop in mind that one of the most tedious tasks of building an OS is those annoying drivers. Google hasn’t had the time to get all those drivers straight. Meaning that even if it were to come out next week, it would only work on a couple of systems.

So would you jump into the cloud-based OS arena?

The Modern Carrier Pigeon

I have an admiration of birds. An interesting type of bird is the carrier pigeon, which was used in the 20th century in both World Wars as a sort of email or text message.  A soldier would always have a carrier pigeon attached to his belt so he could send emergency messages. But that technology is so out of date. Everyone should have a modern carrier pigeon to carry their phones.

The Royal Wii, "Gold Plated Sucker for the Queen of England"

Did you hear?

Never saw this coming.

From Yahoo!:

The Nintendo Wii has positioned itself as the gaming console for everybody. As it turns out, that includes the Queen of England. Well, sort of. It’s not like Her Royal Highness went down to Wal-Mart and bought one with her summer job savings. Rather, she was given a special version by gaming company THQ.

What makes the Queen’s “Royal Wii” different? It’s gold-plated, sucka! None of that lame white plastic for Buckingham Palace — the Queen needs her bling! Gaming blog Joystiq reports that the gaming company is hopeful that the PR stunt “will amuse Queen Elizabeth.”

Should the Queen declare her love for the gift, expect the title to get a right honorable boost in the Buzz. Silly as that sounds, it’s not out of the realm of possibility — according to insiders, she was “addicted” to playing Prince William’s Wii last Christmas. Now she’ll have one of her own.
