Out of 10 patents brought up the ITC has found HTC guilty of infringing two. What does this mean? Well, we cannot be sure now, as it is unknown if the smartphones in question would be banned from reaching the United States, or if HTC will be shedding tons of green paper to make the legal team at Cupertino happier than they already are right now. It’s awesome news straight from the top — HTC’s CEO Peter Chou, who on the company’s official Facebook page, stated the following regarding locked bootloaders on HTC’s future Android devices:
There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we’ve listened. Today, I’m confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience.
Way to go, HTC! Oh, and by the way Motorola, it’s your turn to not look like a sucker with locked bootloaders.

The new flagship phone of HTC is here: the Sensation 4G. A 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor (in dual-core setup), Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the new Sense UI (completely new), 4.3-inch Super LCD display with 960 x 540 resolution, 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and 1080p HD video capture, forward-facing camera for video chat, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and an 8GB microSD card, all the while measuring 11.54mm in thinness. Included in the newest version of HTC Sense is the active lock screen, which allows the users to launch his/her favorite apps without unlocking the handset, and HTC Watch for streaming movies instantly. Since this is a “4G” device with use of HSPA+, T-Mobile will be carrying the HTC Sensation 4G “this summer”.
Press release after the — cut.

So this is new. Besides the coolest arranged PR leak in gadget blogging history from last night, leaking photos of the Incredible HD to all my friendlies at the top gadget blogs, Gizmodo just got a shot of the Incredible HD turned on, with 4G LTE, and Sense UI. As expected this should debut at CES. Via: Giz

So HTC is quietly brilliant, quietly rich. HTC has posted record profits for Q4, topping $3.3 billion on shipments of 9.9 million units. The company reports that it shipped almost 25 million total units in its fiscal 2010 year, planning to keep Android as its main building platform, but also keep Windows Phone 7 in the cards as “We believe the overall pie is still big enough to have at least three to four tier-1 players enjoy the growth momentum,” the company said in a recent statement.
And with new product launches on the 8th of November with the HTC Surround and upcoming HTC Merge, things really do look quite brilliant for HTC. Via: Reuters

What have we here? The new king of Droids, actually. This report is coming to you at 12:21 AM Eastern time, so bear with me here. Essentially what’s going on is that the Android slider that made an EVO 4G look small is back, this time being tested by the FCC. The possible specs of the HTC PD42100 (it hasn’t gotten a “proper” codename) are CDMA 2000 and GSM 850 plus Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n WiFi at 2.4GHz frequencies. And then a 1.2GHz processor or 4-inch display with removable battery. This thing is a monster, and I can’t wait to try it out for myself.
I mean, LaptopMemo, the site, the readers; my audience. Of course.

So what did Boy Genius & Friends do today? Well in this case, some tasty tipster leaked out these shots which display in crystal-clear quality the HTC handset that is very much EVO 4G-like, but instead headed to Verizon. An 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, front-facing camera, Sense UI, and has a built-in kickstand. Whatever it might be called, I’ll want this as a review unit in my office. Expect a report of some sort on this handset between the end of this week, and early next week. I am planning something interesting here y’know?

The Sexy Nexy, AKA the Google Nexus One, is officially out of stock, and will no longer be sold by Google directly. The purpose of the Nexus One was to inspire all OEMs to make perfect Android handsets. Now every Android phone is getting more and more advanced than before, because of the Nexus One. It had a great run, and it’ll appear on a future feature /Android 2.2 review. Stay Tuned!
Please T-Mobile, start stocking the Nexus One. If it’s possible, that is. Otherwise, so long Nexus One. Until nex time…
