Aluminum HTC Legend Makes Its Debut At MWC

The true successor to the HTC Hero, the Legend is made out of a single piece of aluminum. Running Android 2.1 with an updated version of Sense UI, a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen with 320 x 480 resolution, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 600 MHz processor and 512MB ROM (with microSD card slot), as well as 384MB of RAM. GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1300 mAh is also included. One smart feature that the Legend adds to the Sense UI, as well as the HTC Desire also announced today is “helicopter view”, as HTC calls it. It’s essentially like Expose on your Mac. Pinch the screen and you can see all 7 homescreens with ease. It’s expected late March/early April in Europe with a worldwide launch to be announced. Promo video after the break. [HTC]

Exclusive: HTC Lineup For MWC Is “Incredible”? Apple “beware”??

While searching for juicy tidbits on HTC’s upcoming product line (the HTC Legend, Incredible, Bravo, and Supersonic) I stumbled across an interesting tweet by @claudineb of The Daily Telegraph. Although it does make sense that there would be an embargo, if you say the words “Apple beware” then something is brewing inside HTC? Not only that but in the slide after the jump you’ll see she says, “It’s not an iPhone killer per say, but brings some lovely, well-implemented new ideas to the table that Apple should take note of.” If Apple should take notes then it’s for more than one phone, right?

Any tipsters that want to come forth please do so now. [Thanks! Claudine]

HTC Legend set for March release according to KPN’s site

There’s no doubt that the HTC Legend is coming, and is the successor to the Hero. The Netherlands’ KPN has listed the Legend on its site for a March release, and you can sign up for updates when it comes out.  Of course, the official unveiling is very likely due at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. From the plain looks of it the snapshot of the Legend is an official press photo from HTC, so probably KPN just jumped the gun and went for it. Some specs have dripped from this too: 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM on board, AGPS, WiFi, an FM radio, 3.2-inch display and 5 megapixel camera. Hopefully the name will carry on to launch, and I’d like it to anyways.

HTC Legend Probably Takes One of Its Last Leaked Shoots

Any day now HTC might announce the Legend, so it’s a race for leaks to come straight through with as much specs and photos as possible. In this case we find a final production-looking unit, which has a slab of black plastic at the bottom. The same silver-edged theme is present, and from the looks of it, very solid. It’s been a while since specs for the Legend have leaked out. but finally a tipster at Engadget has delivered the goods:

  • 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
  • 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor (the same class of core used by the Pixi and Devour)
  • 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • WiFi
  • Quadband GSM / EDGE plus dualband HSPA
  • Magnetic compass
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 1300mAh battery

Ture, it’s not on par with the Nexus One, Moto’s Droid, or even HTC’s Bravo, but it comes to show you that HTC is fully committed to Android — as a whole. [Engadget]

HTC Legend Spotted with Live Photos, And Metal Casing

Remember that leak I made not too long ago? I found out that the HTC Legend will be in all-metal casing. And look at what we have here! An anonymous tipster has handed over Engadget these photos (other one is embedded below) of the HTC Legend in silver. At least Mr.BlurryCam did a better job this time. And did you notice? it’s running Sense UI, but not the slightly refreshed version that let’s say the Incredible has. Afterwards there are no spec updates, just a giant HTC logo on the back. Check it out after the jump. [Engadget]

Exclusive: HTC Legend Now Will Instead Be In Aluminum? Correct.

A leak by ai.rs blog showcases that the HTC Legend will be available in an aluminum casing, and not only in that green overall. A quick recap of the specs is in the image after the break. An interesting thing is that HTC is planning to make the optical trackpad found on the Legend the same as the Bravo, and it will be a sort of standard. It only makes me want to know more details about the Legend, and of course that means finding a way of getting more intel.
