Verizon Confirms The HTC Incredible On Twitter

An article that’s not about the iPad? Say it ain’t so! After months of leaks and rumors, Verizon has finally come out and said that the HTC Incredible will be released on Twitter yesterday, via their VZWOffers account. Here’s what they said:

“@studentbuddha It’s a Friday Brandon, don’t be angry :-) As for the HTC Incredible & other new phones…good things come to those who wait!”

“@shawnaisaacs Hi Shawn, Yes the HTC Incredible does seem to be in demand! What do you think of #Droid, by the way?”

Verizon Wireless (AKA, Big Red) isn’t keen on giving out specs or release dates, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait on this one. On another note, the EVO 4G might have another Android “superphone” it will have to compete with. And we’re all for that.

An Exclusive: HTC Incredible press photos leaked (UPDATE: they’re fakes)

So there you go. Earlier we were talking about the Desire coming to T-Mobile USA, and now here are two HTC Incredible shots straight from the mess at the Android Forums. If these prove to be real (and are very real-looking if you ask us, though we can’t independently prove if they are real ourselves) there will be two color variations for the Incredible, which are both — dare I say — Incredible. And one of them also resembles Mr. Incredible from you-know-where. In the meantime enjoy the extra shot of HTC’s upcoming Verizon handset, the Incredible, after the jump. And hey, don’t flame us if this turns sour; we’re posting this as usual because we love you readers.

UPDATE: We’ve finally gotten some intel as to whether or not these are real, and it looks like they’re fakes. Moving along now, we’re still sniffing around for a release date, using different sources.

UPDATE #2: Though these are 100% fake, they do resemble the actual HTC Incredible photos that have been floating around for ages now. So let’s say we have a near-perfect fan made render, instead of pure junk. And we’ll put this to rest.

[Thanks! Kyle]

HTC Incredible to make Verizon debut in two weeks?

If you dare to call your phone “incredible”, you might want to watch out for the person that actually has a phone with the name “HTC Incredible”. Sporting a Snapdragon CPU downclocked to 768MHz (normally 1GHz), 512 MB RAM, 8 megapixel camera, a 1,300 mAh battery, and almost a perfect match to the Nexus One’s measurements.

According to the latest rumor, the Incredible will land on Verizon in no less than two weeks time, meaning before that Verizon Nexus One “spring launch”. So, a phone with an “incredible” name, Android 2.1 with the new Sense UI, and Verizon? That’ll be one Incredible please, make it snappy.

HTC Incredible pictured on the run with Verizon branding, all seems well

Today’s average forum goer at the Android Forums has something new to chatter about today. Going straght down to the juicy details: there’s about half a gig of RAM, 320MB of that is usable, 8 megapixel camera, a Snapdragon that’s downclocked to 768Mhz (but the new Sense Ui is still said to be “blazing fast”), and measures exactly 117.5 x 58.5 x 11.9mm, meaning that’s it’s just a bit narrower, shorter, and thicker than the Nexus One.

The back still looks like it’s keeping the contoured curves along with the Verizon branding. Interestingly, the entire shell on the inside is colored red, much like the HD Mini’s yellow. So far we dig it’s coming out sometimes in April or May. More photos are at the “More” of the post.

Unconfirmed: Droid Eris to be replaced by HTC Incredible April 1st?

According to BerryScoop, the upcoming HTC Incredible will launch on April 1st, the same day as the HTC Droid Eris will make its exit. What’s the strange connection here is that the Incredible would not simply be a new phone in Verizon’s system, but it would replace the Eris. Furthermore, Verizon is viewing the Incredible as their Nexus One that they would promote in stores. The upcoming CDMA Nexus One would have no place in a Verizon store the “source” claims, but instead would be sold online by Google. Sounds a little off to us, no?

HTC Incredible spotted again, this time with a tint of red

While you may not be used to flamboyant red phones, the HTC Incredible doesn’t look too shabby in red trim at all. Of course would Verizon allow such a phone with such out-of-this world colors to be released; we don’t know. What we do know is one, red and black is Verizon’s colors and two, that rumors say the official launch for the Incredible is from March to May (pretty wide, huh).  Otherwise this Snapdragon, Android 2.1 with Sense UI smartphone is getting closer to an actual release everyday. Purportedly anyway.

HTC Incredible found in Verizon Wireless’ system, launch approaching

None of us have forgotten about the HTC Incredible (mostly), a 1Ghz Snapdragon-powered Android 2.1 with Sense UI smartphone. As seen in its last leak, the Incredible will be on Big Red’s network, and the guys and gals at BerryScoop have snatched a screenshot of Incredible in Verizon’s system. Usually when a handset is “in the system” an official launch comes soon after. The first SKU, ARD6300DU is for the launch kit which is sent to stores for display units and promotional reasons, while the second SKU is actually for the Incredible. One thing mentioned by the tipster is that the Nexus One is not yet indexed by Verizon, so it may not come as soon as we think.

Exclusive: HTC Lineup For MWC Is “Incredible”? Apple “beware”??

While searching for juicy tidbits on HTC’s upcoming product line (the HTC Legend, Incredible, Bravo, and Supersonic) I stumbled across an interesting tweet by @claudineb of The Daily Telegraph. Although it does make sense that there would be an embargo, if you say the words “Apple beware” then something is brewing inside HTC? Not only that but in the slide after the jump you’ll see she says, “It’s not an iPhone killer per say, but brings some lovely, well-implemented new ideas to the table that Apple should take note of.” If Apple should take notes then it’s for more than one phone, right?

Any tipsters that want to come forth please do so now. [Thanks! Claudine]
