HTC Espresso’s Sense UI tested on video

Ever since those first Espresso Sense UI screenshots came out, we’ve all been looking for more, and we’ve found it. The new Sense UI for the HTC Espresso is demoed on video after the jump, and you can tell that it was hacked onto an HTC Hero. From the looks of it, the Sense IU looks a little more Android 2.0+, and can definitely fit into the new era of Android UIs, although the only thing that isn’t too nice here are those translucent backgrounds behind each of the apps.*shudders*. Video is after the cut. [Engadget via MobileTechWorld]

HTC Legend appears again, this time with the specs

image

The HTC Legend Hero look-alike is straight out of the leaked roadmap from not too long ago, has some pretty decent specs. It uses a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, with the CPU clocking in at 600MHz; internal memory is 512MB with 256MB RAM; 1500 mAh battery; 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen; 5.0-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash; microSD slot; Bluetooth 2.1; GPS; G-sensor; digital compass; 3.5mm headphone port; and last but not least an optical trackpad along with a miniUSB port. Now one more thing I’d like to know HTC — will it still have that LaptopMemo green chin when it comes out in March 2010?

Sprint: Android 2.0 for its Android phones next year

image

While Verizon is probably boasting over the fact that they will be releasing a version of Android that could run Google Maps Navigation for the Eris next year, Sprint seems to be working on something good, too. According to Sprint on their Twitter account, Android 2.0 is coming Q1 2010 for the Sprint Hero and Samsung Moment. Pretty neat, huh? It’s about time that Android phones get their firmware versions in order. This also means that HTC better start moving when it comes to converting the Sense UI for Android 2.0.

HTC Hero look-alike being tested by FCC

1

I’m sure you jumped to conclusions already: That’s a HTC Hero! Wrong! It’s some unknown HTC Hero look-alike that’s currently being tested by the FCC. Very interesting to say the least. The specs that were salvaged from BGR make it feel very much like a Hero or myTouch 3G: quad-band GSM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, TV-Tuner, front and rear facing cameras, LED flash, 1 GB internal storage, 512 MB RAM, and 1600 mAh battery. There are 2 colors seen in the shots after the break: white and black. Of course our first assumption is that it’s a Android handset, but who knows? Click to see the shots of the mystery handset after the break. [BGR via FCC]

NEW RUMOR: Shots of Android 2.1 running on Hero

hero-running-2.1

A couple of shots of the HTC Hero running Android 2.1. No idea why the blurred lines are there, all we know is that it’s supposed to be a Hero running Android 2.1, an update that should come out later this year. Maybe HTC was saying the truth when thy promised to get the Sense UI ready for the new Android? Time will tell.

Sprint HTC Hero: Now $99 like its cousin, the Eris

500x_hero-bestbuy-11-16-09

This makes sense. Since the better looking, and slimmer DROID Eris from Verizon is a redesigned Sprint Hero, the Hero has to lower its pride and go down to 99 bucks mark, too. [Engadget]
