The New Nexus One Car Dock Has Set Its First Priority: Your Car.

That’s right! The Nexus One has finally had its car dock debut for the not-too-bad price of $55. Before you yell “This is a rip-off!”, let’s go over the features shall we? It can attach itself to your windshield or dashboard, has built-in speakers and built-in volume controls, and can also charge your beautiful investment on the  road while you’re driving. It also detects when it’s pugged into the dock and immediately switch to “Car Home” mode for easy hands-free use. It’s not too bad considering that the navigation you’ll be using is the best on a mobile phone ever. As for availability, it’s on sale at the Google store right now.

Explained: Google’s Nexus One is Official, Web Meets Phone

It’s Official and Specs

Google’s Nexus One is official, and who didn’t think it would be? Sporting a 3.7 AMOLED display, Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, light and proximity sensors, GPS, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, 3.5mm audio jack, dual microphones for noise canceling, and you can get custom engraving on the metal bezel back.  The Nexus One is the official gPhone everyone has dreamed of for so long. According to Google it’s thinner than a #2 pencil and lighter than a Swiss Army knife. Also, don’t call it a smartphone, because according to Google it’s a “superphone”. Interesting. I wonder if that will take off.

Customization

Customization is something that Google seems very passionate about. The News & Weather widget allows you to grab feeds of you guessed it — news and weather. The live wallpapers that react to touch is another nice touch, courtesy of the Snapdragon chip. And did I mention Google Earth is finally on Android handsets? It’s about time. Oh, just a minute — apps are now finally stored on the SD card. Yessss.

Pricing & Availbility

As for pricing: The Google Nexus One will be $189.99 on T-Mobile and $529.99 unsubsidized, with a Verizon Nexus One coming soon to the States and Vodafone carrying it in Europe.  Both models would come in Spring 2010, with the Verizon model being CMDA based. As for US customers who are interested in getting a Nexus One right now, there’s the $529 option and the $189 option, and you can get it at google.com/phone. One note for subscribers who are interested in getting the Nexus One with AT&T: it will only work on EDGE bands. Sorry, suckers guys.

Full press release and video after the break.

It’s hard to believe, but the picture on the right which came from a forum member seems to be all the confirmation needed. Instructions for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X users is at the second source link. Now how about you hackers hack the Nexus One to have multitouch? Deal?

Google Android press event scheduled for January 5th

Just in, this must be the press event for the upcoming Nexus One by Google. Why wouldn’t? It has to do with Android, and from the graphic you see above, those are the lines seen in the boot screens of the Nexus One. Looks like it’s time to put your tin foil hats on.

The statement:

With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we’ve seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what’s possible.

Please join us in Mountain View on January 5, for an Android press gathering.

This should be interesting.

T-Mobile basically confirms the Google Phone (Nexus One) for a January launch

Leaked photos, documents, employees spilling out info that they shouldn’t and rumors are almost nothing compared to the internal memo below from T-Mobile on 12/29.

Google, with support from T-Mobile, is scheduled to launch a new Android device in early January. The Google Android phone will be sold solely by Google via the Web.

All we need to know now is the price. $199 USD perhaps?
