This is the DROID 4. It is half an inch thick, but despite that, has allowed Motorola to cram a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of memory underneath its 4-inch qHD display. There is also 4G LTE data service provided by Verizon Wireless, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video recording, Android 2.3.5 with a Motorola skin (the Ice Cream Sandwich update comes soon) and lastly a launch date of the coming week, without a price yet, however. Full press release after the break.

Motorola DROID RAZR: A 1.2Ghz Dual-Core processor, 4.3-inch qHD screen, Verizon 4G LTE
by Stefan Etienne on 18. Oct, 2011 12:30PM in Android, Breaking, Mobile, Motorola, Verizon

It’s back — the RAZR. However, with some helpful Verizon branding, it’s now the DROID RAZR. It sports a dual-core 1.2Ghz processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED “Splash Guard” qHD screen, has a Stainless steel core, Kevlar back, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, is the “world’s thinnest smartphone” at 7.1mm thin, 1GB of RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Verizon 4G LTE, LapDock support, 32GB of memory including 16GB of on-board storage and a 16GB microSD card, Bluetooth 4.0, front-facing “HD” camera, and a massive 1800mah battery with 12.5 hours of talk time and 8.9 hours of video playback. The DROID RAZR’s interior boards are also protected against splashes, including its 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass screen.
One interesting point Motorola has mentioned about the DROID RAZR is Smart Actions, which does things like disable Bluetooth and GPS when you’re connected to your home WiFi network. Another feature is MotoCast, like iCloud or Dropbox It manages files on your devices and allows you to easily control all of them. Also included is government-level enterprise support, video calling and so on — meaning that the DROID RAZR could be used by any company who wants its files kept secret or secured.
Another great feature: linking the MOTOACTV watch to the DROID RAZR to get calls and texts without checking your phone. And to come to the inevitable question of pricing: $299.99 on 2-year agreement with Verizon Wireless, with pre-orders starting October 27th and availability worldwide in November (in countries other than the U.S. it will only be known as the RAZR).
Editor’s Note: I find the DROID RAZR very impressive, but considering the next great Nexus phone is (most likely) launching tonight, with a 95% chance it will launch with the new version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich), I find it iffy that a great device like this won’t be up to par with something like a possible Galaxy Nexus.
PR after the break.

HTC Droid Incredible 2 In (Official?) Press Shots And Verizon Branding
by Stefan Etienne on 07. Apr, 2011 10:00PM in Android, Did You Know?, HTC, Mobile, Verizon

It’s the Droid Incredible 2 with Verizon branding and the famous “red eye”, folks, full of the looks from its European counterpart, but with the Verizon branding that makes it a full-fledged Droid, as seen in what seems to be an official press shot seen above, which was leaked by the sources of PocketNow. However, the HTC Pyramid/Sensation seems so much cooler at the moment.
Purported DROID 3 Image Surfaces, Looks Awesome
by Stefan Etienne on 16. Mar, 2011 9:22AM in Android, Mobile, Motorola, Rumors

Following the same design scheme as the Droid 1 and Droid 2, what is purported to be the Droid 3 is better looking than any of the others. A full QWERTY is seen, along with HDMI-out, and what seems to be a 4-inch qHD screen. Mmm, is all we can say. Via: Droid-Life

If you’re missing the $200 necessary for a new DROID smartphone, then if you don’t have a penny I’m going to have to report you. You’d be a complete n00b not to buy one of these if you can. Via: AmazonWireless
Motorola DROID Pro: It’s Like Business And Android. In Harmony.
by Stefan Etienne on 05. Oct, 2010 8:44PM in Android, Motorola, Verizon
The Motorola DROID Pro is well — unexpected and surprising? A Blackberry-esque keyboard, Android 2.2, is a global-phone, and can utilize Verizon’s CDMA bands at the same time. Whether or not it has a touchscreen, none of us know, but more on this as it develops.
Update: Motorola CEO Sanjay Jah has gone up on stage (possibly at CTIA 2010) and remarked that the DROID Pro is real, will be coming in the first week of November, and has a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 3.1-inch display, and 1GHz processor

HTC Lexikon Leaks As Verizon’s Third Android With Sense?
by Stefan Etienne on 20. Sep, 2010 5:09PM in Android, HTC, Leaks, Mobile, Verizon

The HTC Lexikon, very possibly the next HTC-built DROID in the line, is due at Verizon, as the leaked image above from Droid-Life suggests. Let’s quickly go down into the nitty-gritty: Android 2.2 with a 3.8-inch WVGA display and 480 x 800 resolution, 512 MB RAM, MSM7630 chipset, 800 MHz processor (perhaps the new Snapdragon?), 5 megapixel camera, 4 GB internal storage, QWERTY keypad, and HTC Sense UI.
On a personal note, what makes the Lexikon coolest is that awesome capacitive search button and that serious groove with the HTC logo on it.
