Apple iOS 4.1 released to devs, offers signal bar ‘fix’ change

So in a whip of news in today’s cycle (I’ve been busy all day y’know, with other gadgets), iOS 4.1 just got the go to the official dev channels at Apple’s website (developer.apple.com), which brings plenty of bug fixes, the Game Center (which has yet to launch), and interestingly that “signal bar fix”, which falsely according to Apple at this point fixes the death grip issue. The trick here is that even a single bar of service doesn’t look so bad — due to all bars now being taller, as seen below. This won’t work on me, Steve Jobs and Cupertino! Via: BGR

Android 2.2 SDK Hits The Servers At Google, While Devs Will Be In Heaven

The same day that Android 2.2 FroYo is announced, is the same day you can expect the SDK to go live on Google’s servers. And guess what? Here they are! Although I do doubt that mobile Android developers will be able to completely down Google’s servers by a sheer number of downloads, I do know that the SDk offers you the ability to test the OS in the emulator all the way down to version 1 .5, and up to “FroYo” 2.2.

iPhone OS 4.0 event being held April 8th!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. It looks like it’s pouring apples! Apple has officially announced that iPhone OS 4.0 will have an event of its own in 3 days time — April 8th. You know what that means: new iPhone afterwards. This is still developing, so sit tight for an update…

This announcement comes only days after the iPad launch, hinting at something big in the works at the cubicles of Cupertino. For sure, developers will have the chance to incorporate new features into their apps, and will possible learn and have more tools to develop apps on the iPad, creating even better experiences. Also, since this OS has the word “iPhone” in it, you can be betting the Internets that there will be some new iPhone 4 rumors popping about. Anyway, we’ll know more in 3 days.

Mozilla Fennec family photo shows Nexus One, Droid, and NVIDIA Tegra

Recently at Mozilla, Vladimir Vukićević and Michael Wu have been working hard on bringing Firefox Mobile to Android. In this shot, the NVIDIA Tegra 250 developer unit is present, along with the Nexus One and Motorola Droid. They also have been working on keyboard input, so that now (or soon, is more like it), Mozilla’s Fennec will be deemed “dogfoodable”; meaning that other devs inside of Mozilla will be able to take a crack at their own mobile browser for themselves. No word on a release date. Yet.
