Dell Venue Pro Review

Another Windows Phone 7 device, this time, the Dell Venue Pro. It has one of the most beautiful designs of any WP7 device, users a 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera with 720pHD video recording, and the recent NoDo update which adds copy-and-paste. Check out the rest of the review after the break, where I figure out that Dell’s first great smartphone entry is a win in many areas, but a slight flop in others.

Dell Venue Pro Delayed Till January. Like That Wasn’t Going To Happen.

Remember the Dell Venue Pro, a 4.1-inch, 1GHz Snapdragon, slide-up QWERTY monster of a smartphone? It possesses some of the greatest looks for Windows Phone 7, in my humble blogger opinion, but naturally it seems, Dell can’t help not messing up some new product when it launches. First was the Wi-Fi bug, then the battery, then SIM card issues, and now a release date and proper launch delayed till January, due to customers receiving emails from Dell stating so.

Le sigh. Via: xda-devs

Now The Dell Venue Pro Release Date And Price Is Official

Turns out yesterday I got contacted by Dell about the Venue Pro release date and post I made, and it turns out the page was only a test. Now the Dell Venue Pro is really official, and it costs $99 for the 8GB version, and $149.99 for the 16GB. Remember for these prices you’re getting a 4.1-inch multitouch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon, slide-out QWERTY, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD recording, Windows Phone 7 in all its pretty glory, and probably the coolest looking handset in the series. It ships on the 9th, and for a few days of free shipping, it would be totally worth it. Oh, and Dell offers them unsubsidized, $449 or $499, respectively.

Dell Venue Pro Will Cost $149.99 On The 14th, $500 Without Contract (update: pulled!)

The Dell Venue Pro is the best looking Windows Phone 7 device. In fact (and I’m not joking) but my contacts at Dell feel so bad that the Venue Pro is hard to find (lol?). And so do I. Turns out, we’ll all be happy (well, at least you) when it launches on December 14th on a two-year agreement with T-Mobile — for $149.99. That gets you a 4.1-inch multitouch LCD, slide-up QWERTY, Windows Phone 7, 5MP camera with 720p HD recording, 16GB of internal storage, and some very, very pretty looks. The page is live now, if you’re wondering. Via: TNW, Dell

Update: This one came straight from Dell and into the inbox. It turns out this was just a “test”:

“Dell routinely tests its online capabilities before releasing products via its direct channel. What’s been reported was a test, and we’ll provide additional information when it’s available.”

Oh, fudge.

Windows Phone 7 Launches In The United States

It’s the start of something new, this time from Microsoft. Windows Phone 7′s debut handsets being the HTC HD7, LG Quantum, Samsung Focus, HTC Surround, and possibly the Dell Venue Pro all launch today for the price of $199.99 on a 2-year agreement with T-Mobile for the HD7 and AT&T to the aforementioned handsets.

All of these beasts have 1GHz processors, 5 megapixel cameras (or better) with HD 720p recording, and of course, a delicious serving of Windows Phone 7. Go ahead and click on the links below to get one for yourself.

Dell Venue Pro Listed On Pre-Order Page, I Can Confirm It Comes Out On The 8th

After speaking to my contacts at Dell I can independently confirm that the Dell Venue Pro, the sexiest upwards QWERTY slider in the history of smartphones yet in my humble opinion, is coming to T-Mobile on the 8th of November, much like the Samsung Focus on AT&T. The pricing isn’t official yet, but I can peg it at $199.99 on a usual 2-year contract with T-Mobile. Expansys is listing it also for a November 8th release for 499.99 British Pounds.
