HTC Incredible found in Verizon Wireless’ system, launch approaching

None of us have forgotten about the HTC Incredible (mostly), a 1Ghz Snapdragon-powered Android 2.1 with Sense UI smartphone. As seen in its last leak, the Incredible will be on Big Red’s network, and the guys and gals at BerryScoop have snatched a screenshot of Incredible in Verizon’s system. Usually when a handset is “in the system” an official launch comes soon after. The first SKU, ARD6300DU is for the launch kit which is sent to stores for display units and promotional reasons, while the second SKU is actually for the Incredible. One thing mentioned by the tipster is that the Nexus One is not yet indexed by Verizon, so it may not come as soon as we think.

HTC Legend Probably Takes One of Its Last Leaked Shoots

Any day now HTC might announce the Legend, so it’s a race for leaks to come straight through with as much specs and photos as possible. In this case we find a final production-looking unit, which has a slab of black plastic at the bottom. The same silver-edged theme is present, and from the looks of it, very solid. It’s been a while since specs for the Legend have leaked out. but finally a tipster at Engadget has delivered the goods:

  • 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
  • 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor (the same class of core used by the Pixi and Devour)
  • 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • WiFi
  • Quadband GSM / EDGE plus dualband HSPA
  • Magnetic compass
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 1300mAh battery

Ture, it’s not on par with the Nexus One, Moto’s Droid, or even HTC’s Bravo, but it comes to show you that HTC is fully committed to Android — as a whole. [Engadget]

Canon Rebel T2i: 18 Megapixel Stills, 1080p Video, Costs $899

The oh-so-wonderful Canon Rebel T2i is the perfect DSLR for anyone who can’t buy the perfect DSLR. For $899 you’d get an 18.7 megapixel senor (18.7 MP!) at 3.7 fps, the 7D’s style of light metering and better ISO range; 100 to 6400. Even more amazing is the 30 / 25 / 24 fps 1080p HD video shooting, as well as 720p (also HD) at 50 / 60 fps and VGA at similar speeds. This camera can also do a “movie crop”, where you would get 7x more zoom by cropping on the CMOS sensor without losing quality in the SD card. Translation: This is the best entry-level DSLR camera you can get, on paper. The T2i will come out in March for $800 (body only), or with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens kit which would set you back at about $900. PR after the break!

New Rumor: 22-inch touchscreen iMac coming on the 27th?

If the official revealing of the Apple Tablet (or iSlate) is on the 27th of this month, then why not have a new rumor for another touchscreen Mac? This time according to the Commercial Times, Apple has signed a deal with a Korean company (Quanta, a long time partner) to provide 22-inch touchscreens that would be used on a full fledged all-in-one Mac computer.  Yes, it’s more rumors, but it isn’t the Apple Tablet, which is becoming a tiring subject, but might be an exciting one at the end of the month.

AllThingsD: Apple Making “Major Announcement” on Jan 27th

Are you low on Apple Tablet news? Then look no more! Except according to this report, you’ll have to wait one more day for the Apple Tablet.  AllThingsD is reporting that Apple is getting ready to make a “Major  Announcement” on the 27th of this month, and not the 26th like previous reports suggested. What’s making this even more interesting is that they say it will be at the Yerba Buena Center, and will be a “major new product”. Wait, there’s more. A French site called Mac4Ever reports that developers are working with the beta iPhone OS 4.0 SDk, and the devs are reformatting their apps for a larger screened device. I think I like where this is going.

Interestingly impressive, the Skiff Reader will have access to the Skiff digital store, which is where you would download e-books and magazines. You’ll be able to access it via Wi-Fi, or Sprint 3G.

The pricing and release date is unknown as of now, but you can be pretty sure that you’ll be buying it from Sprint, and that it will be very interesting to use. Full PR after the break. UPDATED: LaptopMemo has learned that according to a PR representative that the Skiff Reader will be released “later this year”.
