So. Christmas is over, and New Years is on its way. Putting that aside, Boy Genius got his paws on the sequel to the Blackberry Tour — the Tour 2 9650 (on the left). According to his hands-on, it still has the great keyboard that the Tour had, and it probably has a newer and faster processor, as well as an optical trackpad, new Wi-Fi module, and the same size as the original Tour. We know you’ll probably want one (even though you probably just got a smartphone for Christmas), so why not head over to the link below and check out the gallery?

Oh, you thought I wouldn’t publish a holiday gift guide, did you? Well, I’m going to prove you wrong! Yours truly, the 13-year-old Gadget Blogger will begin Part 1 of the “LaptopMemo Holiday Gift Guide”, which includes smartphones. These smartphones were thought of very carefully as the perfect gifts, so you don’t have to think of any. You’re welcome. Oh, and just to point out, this list could be updated anytime with new gadgets.

Motorola Droid

Which 2009 holiday gift guide would be complete without Motorola’s Droid? Complete with Android 2.0, voice commands, Google Navigation, Verizon’s reliable 3G network, and the super-sleek Droid itself, along with a 5MP camera, makes the Droid one of the perfect smartphones for holiday 2009. It’s $199.99 on a 2-year contract with Verizon. Buy it from Verizon here.

The heroic Sprint Hero is a good contender for the “LaptopMemo Holiday Gift Guide”. Thousands of apps, AT&T 3G (even though it’s not perfect at all), multitouch, the Apple branding for one thing, built-in accelerometer, and, well, — just look at the list for it below. $199.99 on 2-year contract with AT&T.
BlackBerry Storm 2 9550

For the business aficionado (or BlackBerry fan), the Storm 2 is the perfect choice.

3.25-inch touchscreen

GPS

BlackBerry OS 5.0

Verizon 3G

T-Mobile myTouch 3G

And of course I wouldn’t forget T-Mobile, so here’s probably the best phone from T-Mo: the myTouch 3G.
Oh this is great for Barnes & Noble, and terrible for Nook fans. The Nook is so popular (even though no one has it yet) that it’s sold out for the holidays. To calm down the angry consumer who expected a Nook for Christmas, B&N is offering placeholder certificates to help with the tremendous loss. So now your Nook should start shipping on January 4th. Just. Great.

This is Google’s gift for the holidays. Free Wi-Fi at 47 airports, across the country. The free service starts today and continues until January 15. But just one thing: When you connect to the network you’ll be poked with a little treat from Google. You’d be given the question if you want your homepage to be Google and if you want to try out Google Chrome. The other option is making a donation to Engineers Without Borders, One Economy Corporation, or the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. But, hey, it’s free!

In the meantime, Microsoft and Yahoo are both in freebie mode. Yahoo has been offering free Wi-Fi in Times Square, and Microsoft will giving out free Wi-Fi at other hotels and airports.

The list of hotels is after the jump. [Google]
