Canon has not only said “HEY, WHAT’S UP!?”, but it’s shaken the Rebels. In this case, not the Rebel Alliance you Jedi fool! The Canon Rebel entry-level DSLR line, primarily the famous and almost-new Rebel T2i.
With 18 megapixels gracing it’s lens, 1080p H.264 video recording, a single DIGIC 4 processor and boasts 1080p, in–camera video editing, a 3-inch LCD 1.4 million dots resolution screen (read: swiveling screen), 100-6,400 ISO purported to be expandable to 12,800, and lastly the professional awesome feature: support for processing RAW images on the camera itself.
It’ll cost $1,100 body-only, or $1,400 with a bundled 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens, at the end of September.

The oh-so-wonderful Canon Rebel T2i is the perfect DSLR for anyone who can’t buy the perfect DSLR. For $899 you’d get an 18.7 megapixel senor (18.7 MP!) at 3.7 fps, the 7D’s style of light metering and better ISO range; 100 to 6400. Even more amazing is the 30 / 25 / 24 fps 1080p HD video shooting, as well as 720p (also HD) at 50 / 60 fps and VGA at similar speeds. This camera can also do a “movie crop”, where you would get 7x more zoom by cropping on the CMOS sensor without losing quality in the SD card. Translation: This is the best entry-level DSLR camera you can get, on paper. The T2i will come out in March for $800 (body only), or with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens kit which would set you back at about $900. PR after the break!

Canon has deployed an army of new cameras to take over the world.
The star of the show is the G11, with a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.8-inch vari-angle, 5x optical zoom, RAW support, and a MSRP of $499.99. It’s for professionals, duh.
Next is the $429.99 Powershot S90, it houses a 3-inch LCD, 10 megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 processing engine, RAW support and 3.8x optical zoom. The SX20 IS will retail for $399.99, has a 12.1 megapixel sensor, 720p (30fps) video, HDMI output, 20x optical zoom and 2.5-inch vari-angle display. Next is the SX120 IS, it houses a 10 megapixel sensor, 3-inch LCD, 10x optical zoom, and AA battery support all for the softer price of $249.99. There are 2 more cameras, the SD980 IS and SD940 IS, but I’m not talking about them here though, because Canon gave me too much of a writing workout, hit the Canon link for the whole press release.
