Apple Tablet devices tracked by Flurry near Apple Campus?

Mobile app analytics firm Flurry has released a report dating back to October of last year. Starting in October, and and increasing in January, 50 unknown Apple devices of which Flurry claims has tablet-like specs downloaded at least 200 applications, all of which had to do with games, multimedia, and lifestyle. Which is all of the categories that we think the Apple Tablet fits. Also, another interesting fact is that the iPhone OS detected was not 3.0, or even 4.0, but 3.2. So the Apple Tablet will run iPhone OS 3.2? We don’t know. What’s more is that these devices were traced back to Apple’s Cupertino campus, and not anywhere else.  But since Flurry hasn’t released the specs yet, I’m still a skeptic, although it looks entirely real. But remember, in two days, tomorrow will just be a day away, right?

Apple’s Tablet is ‘A First-Generation iPhone That’s Met Its Match With A Rolling Pin’

According to AppleInsider’s sources, the above flickr image rendering is the closet to the actual look of the tablet, hence them saying it “met its match with a rolling pin.” What do they mean? Well, according to what they’ve gotten out of their sources, the Apple Tablet looks like a first-gen iPhone that has been flattened and has a larger screen. So in theory, the Apple Tablet has a 10-inch screen, 3.5-mm stereo headphone jack, built-in speaker grills, a microphone, GPS, 3G connectivity and a 30-pin dock connector, and no OS X, because it will have an iPhone-like home button, if AppleInsider is correct.

So, would you like if the Tablet is like an old iPhone, except fatter?

Yes, yes I would.

HarperCollins working with Apple to provide e-books for tablet?

According to the WSJ, HarperCollins Publishers is in talks with Apple to provide e-books for the upcoming tablet. If something like this actually happens, companies like Amazon will take a serious hurting from such a deal. According to HarperCollins’ own chief exec, Amazon would have something to worry about because: “e-books enhanced with video, author interviews and social-networking applications could command higher retail prices for publishers than current e-books”.

Such an idea would (and should) be ideal for Apple’s upcoming tablet on the 27th. Of course, there will be more speculation until Apple’s press event, but just imagine this for a moment: man created the e-book, and now a super e-book. I like it.

New Rumor: 22-inch touchscreen iMac coming on the 27th?

If the official revealing of the Apple Tablet (or iSlate) is on the 27th of this month, then why not have a new rumor for another touchscreen Mac? This time according to the Commercial Times, Apple has signed a deal with a Korean company (Quanta, a long time partner) to provide 22-inch touchscreens that would be used on a full fledged all-in-one Mac computer.  Yes, it’s more rumors, but it isn’t the Apple Tablet, which is becoming a tiring subject, but might be an exciting one at the end of the month.

Apple Tablet January 27th Event: “Come See Our Latest Creation”

The rumors, leaking, and guesses are true. Apple is sending out invites to “Come See Our Latest Creation” on January 27th. The event is taking place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, starting at 10AM PST. Stay Tuned!

UPDATE: With all of those colorful splashes of color, you might expect that Apple’s “latest creation” has to do with creating things. And what better thing to create with than a tablet? It all seems so obvious, at least that would have to be one of the primary functions. Oh, and if you’re interested in reading previous Apple Tablet coverage, hit the new banner I just put up.

Just in: WSJ reporting Apple Tablet shipping in March

More tablet news, huh? This is killing me. Now the WSJ is reporting that the Apple Tablet will ship in March, but will be announced later this month (the 27th or 28th), according to various sources.

Apple Inc. plans to unveil a new multimedia tablet device later this month, but doesn’t plan on shipping the product until March, people briefed by the company said.

The tablet should sell for $1000, and will (could is more like it) come in different colors, as well as a screen size of 10 to 11-inches, and possibly a nationwide Wi-Fi subscription would also be offered. This post will be updated with any new info as it comes in.

AllThingsD: Apple Making “Major Announcement” on Jan 27th

Are you low on Apple Tablet news? Then look no more! Except according to this report, you’ll have to wait one more day for the Apple Tablet.  AllThingsD is reporting that Apple is getting ready to make a “Major  Announcement” on the 27th of this month, and not the 26th like previous reports suggested. What’s making this even more interesting is that they say it will be at the Yerba Buena Center, and will be a “major new product”. Wait, there’s more. A French site called Mac4Ever reports that developers are working with the beta iPhone OS 4.0 SDk, and the devs are reformatting their apps for a larger screened device. I think I like where this is going.
