Tonight, HP had cometh to all gadget blogs with news. I present to you — new laptops. Begin!
First off is the new Envy 17 (or refreshed, or whatever) with CoolSense (keeps it from frying your man — lap), the new Intel Core processors with the same naming schemes as the previous ones, albeit more awesome-ish, has integrated graphics and a Radeon 6850M to pwn those n00bs, the Beats audio sound system of glory, and a 17.3-inch LED backlit screen. It’ll be available soon. Mmm, tasty.
For seconds there’s the new dv7 (which gets Beats Audio) and dv6 laptops, which only have the new Intel Core processors, some Radeon graphics cards, and pricetags of $900 for the dv6, and a thousand Benjamins for the dv7. They get released the 9th.
And then, only then, is the really cool laptop out of the bunch (seen as the top image). It seems to be to my luck that I keep on writing and loving 11.6-inch notebooks, from the Alienware M11x R2 (make an R3, please!) the Macbook Air and now the Pavilion Dm1. It’s about 1-inch thick, has 10 hours of battery life, the new AMD Fusion “APU” (accelerated processing unit, combining both graphics and processing), and has support for 1080p HD video (whaaa?), and supports DirectX 11 graphics on that 1080p HD screen of 11.6-inches and 1.6GHz of speed starting at $449. It also has 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1VGA, and one HDMI port. There’s options for a 320GB hard drive and 8GB of DDr3 RAM, too. I’d better review one of these, ASAP.
