GUNNAR Anime Onyx Review: These Glasses Are Awesomesauce

I rarely give any reviewed product the “awesomesauce” in the title of the review. But the Gunnar Anime Onyx glasses does deserve it. To put it short and simple, these glasses are designed for long computer-usage. They refrain the amount of brightness seen on the screen, and turn that light into natural light, using several technologies that Gunnar has patented and/or has found in a variety of sunglasses/prescriptions. The end result is less eye strain, a smaller chance of migraines, along with well-lubricated eyes that could take several hours of computer usage without take a major beating to the optical nerves and/or the retina. As you might know, at the age of 14 I do spend quite a while in front of tablets, smartphones, computers, and just about anything else with a screen. So I do get eye strain (on occasion). And it is very annoying. So when I found out that Gunnars existed, and that my friends at ThinkGeek were willing to send me a pair for review, I decided it’s time to get locked and loaded.

Review after the break.

Suunto Core Glacier Gray review

Does anybody wear watches anymore? Well, people in fact do. Whether or not high-end watches like the Suunto Core will be all the rage like smartphones are is a definite doubt, but as seen the in the review after the break, there really isn’t anything wrong with this expensive watch. It’s pretty cool, actually.

myTouch 4G Slide Review: Great Android Slider, “4G” HSPA+ Not A Marvel

T-Mobile will be releasing the myTouch 4G Slide as of publish tomorrow. It has the specs of a champion smartphone: a 1.2GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 8 megapixel camera (which is wide-angled, has rapid fire shooting, HDR, low-light shooting, and finally a wide-aperture lens capable of f2.2), VGA front-facing camera, 3.7-inch Super LCD display, and finally an amazing slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It is also incredibly cool-looking, and despite not being the slimmest QWERTY smartphone on the market, it still is the perfect size. Check out the review after the break; you know you want to!

MSi GX660R Review: Pew, Pew, Pew On Extreme Settings

This isn’t the pinnacle of new tech — it’s the aging MSi GX660R, which uses a first-generation Inter Core i processor clocked at 1.73GHz with TurboBoosst, has 6GB of DDR3 RAM, an AMD HD5870 mobile graphics card, a 15.6-inch screen at 1920x1080 resolution, 2 megapixel webcam capable of recording 720p HD video, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and finally two 320GB hard drives in RAID 0 configuration clocked at 7,200RPM, making for 640GB of total storage space. It’s no slouch at all, and can still combat with today’s onslaught of new Sandy Bridge systems.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review

Is this — the PlayStation Phone? Yeah, pretty much. Although I think an actual PlayStation Phone from Sony (not Sony Ericsson) would have been a better idea, the Xperia Play is “PlayStation Certified” by Sony and built by Sony Ericsson. Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, dedicated PSP-like controls, CDMA 3G service on Verizon Wireless, a 4-inch WVGA LCD, and front with back-facing cameras, the Xperia Play should have been the gaming phone of the year, right? Not so much. Let’s see why in the review, after the break.

HTC DROID Incredible 2 Review

Successor to the well-received HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless, the Incredible 2 is on sale and brings little to nothing new (depending on what you call new) to the party. This review will be shorter than the others, but only because there isn’t a lot to cover (or perhaps there is?). Check out the review after the break to find out.

PENTAX K-r Review: Better Than The K-x, For Sure

This is the Pentax K-r. It’s the more expensive and improved version of the Pentax K-x, which in its own right, was one of the best cameras of 2010. Since mostly the changes between the K-r and K-x have to do with the autofocusing system, power source, and some cosmetic changes, this review will be shorter than my usual DSLR reviews, as the device in question is more of an update rather than a completely new DSLR. But does that take away from the K-r at all? Not a bit. Check out the review past the break to see why.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review

For some reason, I’m not starting off a review with the nice introduction. I’m going straight into the review. It focuses on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the iPad 2′s only worthy rival on the market right now, and it’s so close yet so far to being the better product. At the very least, it’s the best Android tablet we’ve seen ever since there was talk of Android tablets, even before Android Honeycomb 3.1 was released, which is what the Galaxy Tab 10.1 uses as its OS. Review is after the break.
