Photoshop CS6 teased on video with darker UI

In what Adobe describes as Photoshop CS6 being more intent on “immersion” is a darkened UI that would help with — something? Anyways, the video of Photoshop CS6 in action can be watched above the very words that I’ve just finished typing. Of course, software designers at Apple as well as leaning towards the more “professional” black color scheme, which depending on how you look at it, also looks sharper and even charming.

Apple Macbook Pro Models Updated With New GPUs, CPUs, And More

Got a Macbook Pro this year? It’s time to feel bad already, because they’ve been slightly updated with new specs. To begin with, the AMD Radeon HD 6770M discrete GPU will be the gaming prowess in you 15-inch 17-inch versions. Even better yet, there are some CPU improvements to be examined: the 13-incher gets an with a 2.8GHz Core i7 or a 2.4GHz Core i5 dual-core processor, instead of the previous entry-level 2.3GHz Core i5 (and it also gets its HDD notched up to a minimum 500GB, or max 750GB). The 15-incher now goes up to a quad-core 2.4GHz Core i7 — the same speedy processor that comes in the updated 17-inch variant. And that is that.

Apple Releases A Low-End, Sans Thunderbolt $999 iMac For Education

In a bid to get schools and education customers into Mac territory (which is where educations should be), Apple has released an iMac for $999 with specs that have been brought down to a 3.1GHz Intel Core i3 dual-core processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB hard drive, Mac OS X Lion, and an AMD Radeon HD 6750 GPU with 256MB of memory. Also worth mentioning is that the RAM is not upgradeable in this edition and there is Thunderbolt port (gasp!). Oh, and there’s no Bluetooth either. I really guess they had to compromise on this one. New Mac minis Join Mac OS X Lion, Have No Optical Drives

Boom. Just like that, the DVD drives in the Mac minis are gone. Each Mac mini now has updated Sandy Bridge technology, which in the $599 base mini now includes a 2.3GHz dual-core Sandy Bridge Core i5 processor with integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics (capable of HD viewing and light video editing), 2GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. The upgraded (and thus more expensive) $799 model jacks it up to a 2.5GHz dual-core Core i5 with AMD Radeon HD 6630M discrete graphics and 4GB of RAM, and the $999 dual-500GB drive server configuration gets a quad-core 2.0GHz Core i7 Sandy Bridge processor with 4GB of RAM and integrated graphics. Is it just me, or is the Mac mini now quite a little powerhouse? All of the new models are available for purchase today.

Macbook Airs Updated With New Sandy Bridge Processors, Thunderbolt, And Backlit Keyboards

It’s finally that time of year where Macbooks get updated, and this time it’s the Macbook Air line. The new 11-inch model priced at $999 (and kills off the old, white Macbook) comes with a new 1.6GHz Core i5 processor (a big bump from the last-gen’s 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo), 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB solid state drive. The larger and more spacious (to say the least) 13-inh 1,299 base model now boasts a 1.7GHz Core i5 processor (up from a sucky last-gen Core 2 Duo), 4GB of RAM (up from 2GB), and a 128GB SSD. Give Apple $1,699 and you’ll grab a 1.8GHz Core i7 processor and 256GB of space, if you want. All the new Macbook Airs contain backlit keyboards, Mac OS X Lion (which also launches today), and a Thunderbolt port for super fast data transfers. PR after the chop, folks.
