Motorola Olympus Bought At A Flea Market, Running MotoBlur And FroYo

Wait a minute here. Before we get on with the story that my dudes and dudettes at Gizmodo broke, we have to ask ourselves something: did this person really buy the Motorola Olympus at a flea market? No one can be sure, but hey, the reader powered it on, said it used Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR, has an HDMI-out, a front-facing camera, and the body looks like a larger version of the Motorola Defy with instead a 4-inch screen and Tegra 2 processor. Hit up Giz for the rest of the shots; this looks to be AT&T’s best Android yet. Hopefully they won’t cripple it. Via: Giz

The Shiny LG Star Runs Froyo With A Skin (Sigh), Looks Cool

Look, it’s the LG Star! Considering phones like these never get to keep their prototype naming when going to retail, you can stop dreaming of owning a Star (no pun intended) but LG’s star is pretty powerful because this new leak confirms some of the specs: a Tegra 2 processor, 8MP Camera, 1080p video, front-facing camera, Android 2.2 with LG skin (insert joke about crappy skins other than Sense and Blur here) and lastly — that’s it. Check out the source below for the full plethora of photos.

Nokia’s X7-00 handset chasing cars in Need for Speed, uses a buggy Symbian build

So Nokia. it’s a company not exactly favored by smartphone-goers right now, but still, they’re resilient enough to go ahead and launch the XSeries set of phones that focus on multimedia. Specs of the X7-00 will roughly match that of the Nokia N8 Failure Edition, except the X7-00, being the media smartphone that it is, has 4 Dolby speakers, and a buggy-looking, early build of Symbian running on it. You can see it in action above, if another Nokia device interests you. Via: Nokiasaga

Update: The video’s gone private. Oh well.

Gingerbread Chilling Out On Samsung Nexus S

Hey, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the U.S. readers! Also, looks like with have the Samsung Nexus S running Gingerbread, and it’s definetely using a 4-inch screen (Super AMOLED or even its successor, SA 2), with 800 x 480 resolution (sigh), an ARMV7 CPU, and the ability to shoot video in 720p (a given on any high-end Android device). More shots are at the always-sneaky and helpful XDA-Developers.

Palm Pre 2 Docs Seen At Verizon, Don’t Mention Release At All

While the Palm Pre 2 is nothing amazing — same form factor with 1GHz processor, HP webOS 2.0, and an improved camera — Verizon does have Q4 2010 plans for it. Probably in time for the holiday season, the Palm Pre 2 will launch. And of course, I’ll try and convince my contact to let me review it (Palm didn’t quite like how I thought the Pre felt cheap. Right.) Via: IntoMobile

HTC Incredible HD/Mecha seen with LTE, Verizon, and Sense

This is very sensible. Have an LTE 4G handset on Verizon, with Android 2.2 and the newest Sense UI, and every single spec matching that of the EVO 4G — sans front-facing camera (strange, I know). According to Android Central’s source (you know, the secret guy who took this photo), the phone currently gets 9Mbps down and 5Mbps up right now in testing phases. Nice!

Now how will Verizon hold up when everyone is using 4G at the same time? Via: Android Central

Panasonic Lumix GF2 Leaked On Billboard, Hopefully Launches Tomorrow

This is the sexiest Micro Four Thirds camera yet, as well as the world’s smallest, courtesy from Panasonic. Containing the same monster 12 megapixel sensor from the G2, it’ll record full HD, has a touchscreen, and an announcement pinged in Paris for tomorrow. If all goes well, this’ll be a good contender in my wishlist against the Nikon D3100, which Nikon is kindly loaning to us for a review. Huzzah!
