How Intriguing: Verizon To Throttle Speed Of Heavy iPhone Data Munchers

This is one of the warnings to keep in mind when purchasing an iPhone on Verizon. One, you’ll get a better network, but with slower data speeds. Two, if you use a lot of data, those slower data speeds will get slower. Yeah.

As Verizon puts it, this only applies to users that use an “extraordinary amount of data”, and are in the top 5% of Verizon data munchers. Once that once that throttling is in motion, it will remain in effect till the end of the monthly billing cycle. Dell Venue Pro Delayed Till January. Like That Wasn’t Going To Happen.

Remember the Dell Venue Pro, a 4.1-inch, 1GHz Snapdragon, slide-up QWERTY monster of a smartphone? It possesses some of the greatest looks for Windows Phone 7, in my humble blogger opinion, but naturally it seems, Dell can’t help not messing up some new product when it launches. First was the Wi-Fi bug, then the battery, then SIM card issues, and now a release date and proper launch delayed till January, due to customers receiving emails from Dell stating so.

Le sigh. Via: xda-devs

Yahoo! Was Down Again. Anyways, Moving On….

It’s the second time Yahoo! went down in the last few weeks for an extended period. At the moment Yahoo is completely down, definitely meaning its a server issue. Somebody at Yahoo wake up from your slumber, and flip the switches back on. Thanks, Stef.

Update: And now everything looks good.

Samsung Galaxy Tab To Cost $600 At Verizon Wireless. Wait, What?

I can’t independently confirm if this is true, but PhoneScoop says that the Verizon Wireless version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will retail for $600 for release on November 11th. Insane does not even begin to define this type of sales decision. Either way, a Samsung Galaxy Tab page on Verizon does exist, but does not include rebate information (if any) or the price on the page. Oh, and as for data, you’ll be paying $20 for only 1GB of it. Lame, or not lame? Take your pick.

Update: And the official press release is after the break. This pricing idea is in fact, correct.

Jacked Up: Microsoft Makes Xbox LIVE A Little More Expensive

So Microsoft jacked up the XBOX LIVE subscriptions costs you say? Well, yes. On November 1st in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the 1-month charge is increasing to $9.99 from $7.99, three months will cost $24.99 from $19.99 while the yearly plan is increasing to $59.99 from $49.99. Yes, it sucks, and it nags me because I was going to buy an Xbox 360 S (I still am, btw).

Reasons for the price increase could be that Windows Phone 7 phones will have integration with your Xbox 360 and LIVE, as well as cross-platform gaming and a ton of other “nice” stuff.

Pellegrino Limonata Review: Save My Tastebuds, Please

Imagine this: going to the market (in this case, my Mom) and buying some groceries for tonight’s gourmet dinner. My Mother being a true chef and all, we don’t have to worry about what we’ll eat for dinner because we either create something new, or just have a classic Italian, Haitian, French, American, or anything-else-you-can-come-up-with dish (ceviche is tonight!).

Then one day she brought Sanpellegrino Limonata home (that was 2 days ago). And I’ve had 3 cans of it (I’m having one now while typing this review).

And I must quickly say it’s not worth it. Thing of a lemon soda, except too much lemon and not enough sugar but with tons of gas. Then imagine the packaging looking extremely polished, then getting disappointed. It’s like getting a Lemon Mac (that issue where new iMac screens a few months back had a yellow hue, which Mark Wilson, someone who’s been a great help to me, also had problems with).

So pretty much, that’s that in my opinion. This soft drink sucks.

HP CEO Mark Hurd resigned over sexual harassment charges

What’s one of the worst possible days to start a weekend as a CEO of one of the world’s most recongized PC manufacturers? Being Mark Hurd, and resign as CEO OF HP, that’s what. Amid sexual harassment charges and investigation, Mark was replaced by CFO Cathie Lesjak on an interim basis.

Mark’s statement:

“As the investigation progressed, I realized there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at HP and which have guided me throughout my career.”

While the world of HP moves on, current CEO of HP Cathie Lesjak, had this interesting choice of words to say: although Mark Hurd was a “strong leader, at the end of the day, he didn’t drive our initiatives — it was the organization that supported Mark in driving those initiatives.”

Ouch. That’s a harsh exit.

White iPhone 4 delayed, AGAIN. Till Later This Year.

The white iPhone 4 is delayed again “till later this year”, as according to the short statement made by Apple below. I can only think of how Steve Jobs and co. are thinking of this. And of course the craziness of the situation as well, along with the almost confirmed fact that the white iPhone 4 requires more unicorn dust to be manufactured.

“Statement by Apple on White iPhone 4

White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”
