Samsung Galaxy S 4G Announced By T-Mobile, But Just Slightly Detailed

  • January 20, 2011

In a Samsung Galaxy S 4G PR, it is said to be running Android 2.2 (perhaps with Touchwiz 3.0), achieves 4G/HSPA+ data speeds of up to 21Mbps, has a Super AMOLED display, and 4G plans starting at $10 per month. The presser T-Mobile just sent out is extremely light on details, like screen size, processor speed, camera(s), and other factors, like an actual image for instance. Otherwise, more info on the “Galaxy S 4G from T-Mobile will be available in the coming weeks.” But for now, said press release is at the end of the post for your lengthy evaluation.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 Review

  • January 19, 2011

This is the BlackBerry Bold 9780. When you think of the “classic BlackBerry” this is what comes (or should) to mind. Besides the new operating system, BlackBerry 6 and a Webkit browser (thank goodness), 5 megapixel camera, more RAM, the same 2.44-inch screen at 480×360 pixels, 2GB of microSD card storage (512MB built-in), and a 624MHz processor, it becomes apparent why the latest Bold is dubbed “9780″ due to it being simple refresh to the well-received 9700. But this isn’t about the Bold line, how BlackBerry is lagging in the industry as a whole, or that a refreshed phone is RIM’s answer to the world of always-changing smartphones. This, is a review of the BlackBerry Bold 9780.

Samsung Vibrant 4G freed, HSPA+ and Android 2.3 Gingerbread come along

  • January 17, 2011

So understand this: you may already own the Samsung Vibrant, but now there will be a Samsung Vibrant 4G, with access to T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 21MBps network, will have a front-facing camera, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. So now, wrap your head around this: a new phone will launch with a new(er) operating system, although the hardware is virtually the same. So, if you wanted Android 2.3 off the bat, you’d have to buy a new phone. Besides this insult to consumers, Sammy seems to have what looks like an un-skinned version of Android 2.3; no Touchwiz elements are seen in the photo. But of course, BGR’s henchmen claim that it’ll get Touchwiz in time for release, no matter what.

Hooray for Samsung? Ugh. Via: BGR

Wireless Hotspot Feature May Come To AT&T iPhones In iOS 4.3

  • January 12, 2011

This small tidbit of news comes from BGR, which purportedly has some screenshots of iOS 4.3 version 8F5148B with a baseband version of 04.08.00. While this may or may not be possible, it’s a sign that Verizon is handing it to AT&T by getting mobile hotspot support a main feature of the iPhone 4, since yesterday they introduced the feature on the Verizon version with support of up to 5 different users at once.

Verizon iPhone Is Real: $200, February 10th, 2-Year Contract

  • January 11, 2011

It doesnt get more realistic than this. The verion iPhone is a real official product, for $200 (a 16GB model) on a 2-year contract starting February 10th as the sale date. It is the same iPhone 4 millions already have on AT&T, except with CDMA radios bound to the United States, and a mobile hotspot feature for up to 5 different users. The $300 model has a larger storage size: 32GB. Other than that, history in technology has been made: the Verizon iPhone is real, and here to stay for quite a good time. Via: Apple

Verizon iPhone owners may have other advantage besides network — unlimited data

  • January 9, 2011

Like the entire Verizon iPhone rumor/saga of events, this may not be true, but nevertheless, it’s been discussed to a few people, and might have originated from the source. What the latest tale from the rumor mill states is that for a certain amount of time, iPhone users on VZW would be offered an unlimited data plan, thus further alienating AT&T’s data-caps and lower usability of its network (let’s face it, AT&T). The general LM reader will know when January 11th strikes, and if it’s for a Verizon iPhone at all.

Motorola ATRIX 4G has dual-core CPU, smartbook accessory

  • January 5, 2011

This is Motorola’s entry into the “4G” (HSPA+/fake 4G) market, and the ATRIX is perfectly fit for that. This seems to be the Motorola Olympus that we all knew and loved, and contains a dual-core 1GHz processor paired with 1GB of RAM, qHD high-res display, HSPA+ (4G) radio from AT&T, 1930 mAh battery, and Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR. There’s also an accessory that contains a keyboard, laptop battery, and display that allows the ATRIX 4G to dock into and be used like a laptop. So, who’s ready to rock on with this, the HTC Inspire 4G, or a certain Samsung Infuse 4G (the awesome one)?

HTC Inspire 4G Is An Inspirationally Cool Handset From AT&T

  • January 5, 2011

We had the Infuse 4G, now we have the Inspire 4G. It essentially has a 4.3-inch screen, HSPA+ connectivity on AT&T, the new HTC Sense UI on Android 2.2,  a 1GHz processor, 8 megapixel back-facing camera (with HD recording of unknown res) and seems to be exactly like the European HTC Desire HD (which it is). Good stuff.
