World’s First PC Game Now Available On iOS, Co-Written By Bill Gates

This is the world’s first PC game, DONKEY.BAS, co-written by Bill Gates and former Microsoft employee Neil Konzen. The objective is simple: there’s 8-bit sounds, graphics, and the idea that you have to dodge donkeys while switching lanes in a car. However, this game was shipped pre-installed on PC-DOS and the original IBM PC, but in 2012 you’ll have to pay developer XVision a small $0.99 for the universal iOS remake on the App Store. Valve adds a Portal Space Core to Skyrim via mod, using Bethesda’s software

I love Valve. What game developer would go through the trouble of demonstrating how awesome another developer (in this case, Bethesda) is, by integrating one of their best characters into Skyrim — a core? It is to be the delightful Space Core (it yells, “SPAAAAAAAACE!”), but anyways the idea is that it’s dropped into Tamriel and now you can fly around in it yelling “spaaaaace”. That’s awesome, Valve.

More importantly however is the launch of the Creation Kit for Skyrim, allowing you to search for Skyrim mods, rate them, and upload your own, just like Valve has done. It’s all good with the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Saturday Feature: Amazing Gaming Screenshots

After discovering this site in the latter part of this week, I am very, very amazed by it. Essentially everything on photoblog Deadendthrills is a screenshot of a video game, but completely unedited and looks absolutely, amazingly, awesome *insert different synonyms for aforementioned vocabulary here*. Check it out, and come back here when you’ve had enough screenshots for one day.

PlayStation Vita US launch bundle: 8GB card, 3G, and PSN game for $299

This is sweet. Near the launch (February 22 in the U.S.), the PlayStation Vita (we want one so badly, Sony. *wink*) will have a bundle that retails for $299 and contains an 8GB memory card, 3G + WiFi Vita, a PSN game (of unknown title), and an AT&T DataConnect Session pass “good for one free 250MB session.” It is reasonable and Amazon seems to be the only retailer with the limited edition bundle currently available for pre-order — at least for now.

Kudos to Sony for getting an attractive package available at launch to boost sales.
