I’m not a car blogger. I’m a tech blogger. But I like amazing cars and I like TopGear (heck, they follow me on Twitter). But you know what? It wouldn’t hurt to post such an awesome-looking hand-built marvel like the Aston Martin V12 Zagato. It looks so cool. Its specs are a 6.0-litre V12 510bhp engine, a steel roll cage, front and rear double wishbone suspension with fully adjustable Multimatic DSSV Dampers, and a 120ltr endurance racing fuel tank which will be tested at the Nürburgring in Germany ahead of the famous 24 hour race coming in June.

Tesla and Toyota are pretty much in perfect harmony now with the RAV4 EV debuted at the LA Auto Show. Current models can go travel 100 miles on single charge, but Toyota is currently fine-tuning the 2012 RAV4 EV to get that 100 mile battery life in all conditions, and even more than just that. As for Tesla’s involvement, they pretty much have everything to do with designing the SUV; the power train, battery, electronics, electric motor, gearbox and software.

The new Nissan GT-R for the 2011 year will have 525bhp (up from the old 476bhp) and 451lb ft of torque, with new brakes, bumpers, redesigned consoles, new interior colors, and everything else that makes a new car new. It’ll debut sometimes in February of next year with prices ranging from £67,000 to £116,000 in British Pounds, as the aforementioned are the only official prices so far.

So, Clarkson? Did you need more POWER?

According to a special post on that record-breaking 267.8 mph run in the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, TopGear might have had something to do with that speed record, which would be epically awesome, especially if Captain Slow (James May), The Hamster (Richard Hammond), or Jezza (Jeremy Clakson, the boss) were in control of the car. Or maybe when Guniess World Record analysts finished authorizing the record, one of the three blokes tried to break it.

And now I quote TopGear:

Now, we wouldn’t want to give anything away, but you know how TopGear has always been pretty intimately involved with high-speed runs in the Veyron? Remember, for example, James’s blast to 253mph in Series 9?

Well, let’s just say… it would have been a bit strange for us not to have been part of this astonishing record run in some capacity. We’re not saying any more, but keep a close eye on all things TopGear in the coming weeks…

TopGear, Season 15, Episode something-something, here I come!

Maybe this is the third time I’ve written about a car. I’m a fan of cars, Top Gear, the Stig, Jeremy Clarkson, and the Hamster — you get the idea. And yet, I could not not make this post, and yet I’ve written very little about technology-filled cars. Hopefully, LaptopMemo gadget blogging skills will help. And here we go…

The McLaren MP4-12C is labelled by McLaren as an “affordable” supercar, which will retail at $225,000. Of course that’s “affordable”, for a car that can go 0-to-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds and has an exterior completely built out of carbon fiber. It’s Britain’s answer to the Ferrari 458 Italia, the best looking car in the world right now (by my standards, which are pretty high). The MP4 debuted yesterday with Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button who were surrounding it. It’s a cool car by anyone’s standards, except there’s no video of it actually working. And that’s where The Stig should pop in about now…
