by Stefan Etienne on 03. Nov, 2011 7:35AM in Apple
It’s come to the realization of Apple that iOS 5 has had some battery-draining issues in all of the iDevices (I myself can vouch for this in my iPad 2). So, they have seeded iOS 5.0.1 ti developers, and soon within a few weeks will make it available as the first iOS OTA update for the public. It also fixes bugs in the software and even in iCloud. And to draw this story to a close: it’s good to know Apple is still on top of things. Via: Giz
Apple Macbook Pro Models Updated With New GPUs, CPUs, And More
by Stefan Etienne on 24. Oct, 2011 5:56PM in Apple, Laptops, Mac OS X
Got a Macbook Pro this year? It’s time to feel bad already, because they’ve been slightly updated with new specs. To begin with, the AMD Radeon HD 6770M discrete GPU will be the gaming prowess in you 15-inch 17-inch versions. Even better yet, there are some CPU improvements to be examined: the 13-incher gets an with a 2.8GHz Core i7 or a 2.4GHz Core i5 dual-core processor, instead of the previous entry-level 2.3GHz Core i5 (and it also gets its HDD notched up to a minimum 500GB, or max 750GB). The 15-incher now goes up to a quad-core 2.4GHz Core i7 — the same speedy processor that comes in the updated 17-inch variant. And that is that.

Apple Shares Q4 2011 Earnings: Misses On iPhone Sales, Overall Below Expectations
by Stefan Etienne on 18. Oct, 2011 5:21PM in Apple

Within the last three months of Steve Jobs’ life, Apple revenues took a dive. Wall Street projected that Apple would bring in $29.5 billion and earnings of $7.29 per share. The company delivered revenue of $28.27 billion and earnings of $7.05 per share. Apple sold 17.1 million iPhones, 11.1 million iPads, and 4.89 million Macs. Despite those numbers being below estimates, Apple had its best September quarter ever. The full press release is available, after the break.
Apple Sells 4 Million iPhone 4S Handsets Over The Weekend
by Stefan Etienne on 17. Oct, 2011 10:50AM in Apple, Breaking, FTW, Mobile
Apple just sent out a press release without much to gloat about. After all, they only sold 4 million iPhone 4S models in a weekend, despite all the disappointment that it’s not an “iPhone 5″ (and considering people are disappointed about not seeing a product that isn’t even announced yet). On the other side of this major win in Apple’s regard, 25 million customers are already using iOS 5, and over 20 million have signed up for iCloud. And all of these numbers only account for the 7 countries that the iPhone 4S is available in: a larger launch is planned in 90 more countries by the end of the year. Presser after the break. (more…)

by Stefan Etienne on 14. Oct, 2011 9:20AM in Apple, Mobile
It’s finally here. The new iPhone. As usual, it’s better than ever, has a new Apple A5 dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, the classic 3.5-inch Retina display, HSPA+data speeds of up to 14.4MBps on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon (and works as a global phone), and finally has just about every latest enhancement in the current market of smartphones, including its own personal AI system, Siri, built into the also new iOS 5. So the question is: did you buy an iPhone 4S today?
