Turns out, Google’s upcoming press event (probably for a variety of new Nexus devices) has been cancelled due to the intense rain and winds New York City plans to brace from Hurricane Sandy. And it also turns out that I’d find myself in the hurricane’s path, so everyone here in NYC is in free-for-all mode. Turns out Google would have been able to hold the event on Monday; it’s just that the venue was on the waterfront. But in San Francisco, Microsoft will be holding a Windows Phone 8 event — so it won’t be a total waste of a Monday.
