Evernote And Moleskine Announce The Smart Notebook — And It’s Very Practical

Evernote and Moleskine are two different companies, yet are in the same business: one stores information in analog, the other digitally, in the cloud. Coming together marks a new product: the Evernote Smart Notebook. Starting at $24.95 for a smaller notebook (and $29.95 for a bigger one), you can take a picture of anything you’ve written in the notebook using the Evernote iOS app (other platforms should get this feature at a later date) and it will immediately be transcribed into a searchable, digital document you can use with your Evernote account.

Let that sink in for a second.

This is fantastic. It is seamless, doesn’t deprive the human race of calligraphy, yet keeps our recording skills moving forward, continuously. And, they’re pretty notebooks. You can pre-order one now, but they will only be ready by October 1st, the date Evernote starts shipping the Smart Notebooks.
