The new Apple TV is sure to amaze quite a few. Literally. Steve Jobs was humble enough to mentioned that not many had bought the original Apple TV. So what changes? First, power, HDMI, optical audio, and ethernet ports on its rear; Wi-Fi b/g/n is built into the device. Then, the new Apple TV will provide Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, Podcast and MobileMe streaming to its owner as well as several iTunes movie and TV show rental options. Using AirPlay, soon to be found on iPod Touches, iPhone 4, and iPads, will allow videos on the iDevice to be streamed to your Apple TV, which is ultimately your TV.
Pricing
The Apple TV itself will cost $99, then the HD movies from the iTunes Store will cost $4.99 (prices will go down as the movie ages) and HD TV shows from ABC and Fox will be available for $0.99 per episode. Your NetFlix account will also work with the Apple TV, then the same goes for YouTube HD. The new ATV will cost $99 starting today as a pre-order, then will ship to 5 different countries, the U.S.A included.
