Just as a case in point, the headline is nearly exactly what HTC said. Moving on to the story, Crave UK loved their Nexus One, until one day it appeared with the purple screen seen above. According to Crave, the Nexus One was innocently charging on a desk. They also swore that they didn’t kill their wonderful Nexus One, and couldn’t understand how it ended up in a purple coating. So Google encouraged them to contact HTC; problem is HTC was stumped. But then they pressed on and got this response from Mr. Clever HTC Support Guy:
“Putting a phone in a tight pair of jeans and sitting down would usually cause that kind of damage,” and “People sometimes forget that they don’t go in pockets.”
Could you please put that by me again? A phone can’t go into a pocket you say? On the flipside of things, CNET UK recieved a new Nexus One courtesy of HTC, and said they’ll be watching this one.
This better not happen with the Nexus One we just got yesterday from Google .
