Nexus One 3G issues ensue, is it a hardware problem?

A very frustrated N1 owner posted this video on YouTube displaying how he can make his Nexus One “lose 3G”. By simply placing his hand at the bottom of the handset, the signal switches from 3G to EDGE, seemingly at will, possibly meaning it is an antenna issue. Hopefully Google can issue another sneaky update that smashes this error, otherwise this would be something called a defect, which can into something even worse — a recall. Video after the cut.
