In a Q4 2009 financial conference call, Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha confirmed that Motorola would be building the second Google-branded smartphone which would be sold directly to consumers, the same way as the HTC-built Nexus One. This unknown handset will be one of 20 that Motorola hopes to offer to get back on track. Despite selling 20 million handsets for Q4 2009, of which 2 million were Android phones, sales for Motorola continue to go red, as sales dropped from $7.1 billion to $5.7 billion, a 20% year over year decline. Moto is also expecting that for Q1 of 2010, share prices will drop about 3 cents per share, showing how much Motorola is down the tubes. And as of this writing, Motorola’s stock is down 11%.
