This is either mind-boggling, or crazy talk. Either way, a would-be iPhone owner spoke to an AT&T sales rep online, asking why wasn’t the iPhone ready and available for purchase online in NYC (particularity Brooklyn). The sales rep then said that the iPhone isn’t ready for New York, and that it’s not available. Which is a fact, after all, NYC’s AT&T coverage is beyond spotty, but it still makes no sense, because retail centers are reporting that their stock is fine, and you can buy an iPhone from them right now. Other cities like San Francisco right now, can order the iPhone online without any hassles. Although here’s an interesting piece of intel that is not confirmed: a Consumerist commenter said, “Due to massive fraud in online ordering, iPhones are not available online only.” Not that is pretty intriguing, and only time will tell what’s going on here. This post will be updated with any new info, so you’re covered.
